Back in 2018, a Kickstarter for a product called "Slice of Sauce" made headlines with an idea that is as mindblowing as it is a potential game-changer: packaged "slices" of ketchup billed as a "no-mess" and "zero soggy bun" way to enhance burgers, sandwiches, and wraps. The idea of sliced condiments has continued to bounce around in the public consciousness since, but Slice of Sauce has been relatively quiet… until recently.
Officially launched last year, Slice of Sauce grabbed a larger spotlight last week after appearing on Shark Tank. Baseball legend and guest shark Alex Rodriguez bought into the concept with a $200,000 investment, and the brand revealed an innovation that may finally cement its game-changer status: name-brand hot sauce slices!
From its humble ketchup beginnings, Slice of Sauce is now accepting online preorders for two spicy new slices: Frank's RedHot Original Cayenne and Secret Aardvark Habanero Hot Sauce. Both products are official collaborations made with the actual sauce brands and are being sold in eight-slice packs for $5.99.

I remember when Durkee had that brand. I’ll pass. Crystal hot sauce for me.
Saw this on Shark Tank.
$5.99 for 8 slices?
Never mind the weirdness of the concept. That’s expensive. The price alone will doom this product.
How am I to get this weird crap om my eggs?!!!
And $5.99? a bottle of Crystal is 79c
Agreed.
Agreed.
It’s really, really ugly. I wouldn’t want it anywhere near my food.
Crystal hot sauce is great!
How do you dunk your fries in a sheet of ketchup?
One thing about liquid condiments is that they blend. Add mayo and ketchup and you get Burger King “whopper” sauce. Add mayo, ketchup and mustard and you get Johnny Rocket “goop” sauce.
With “slices” of sauce they’re not going to blend.
Johnny Rocket “goop” sauce? can we get it in a weird expensive processed sheet form?
mayo, ketchup and mustard
My preferred condiments for a burger...
Hilary likes it. “That pack of slices will fit right into my purse. Now I won’t keep getting a bottle of hot sauce mixed up with my flask of Gin. Nice!
I am currently using Louisiana Brand. In the past I used Panola, but their plant has burned a couple of times, interrupting supplies. Looks like it is back in operation these days.
The key to no mess and no soggy buns is not to put too much on in the first place. That’s the way I do it. A Wendy’s nearby gets the concept and does it perfectly — the flavor of the condiments but no mess, and you can still taste the meat and toppings. On the other hand, I remember getting a hamburger at a Hardee’s in central Illinois and had the whole deal slip from between the buns on practically the first bite. From there, it was all downhill. I don’t know how many napkins I used.
And Crystal or Red dot are both better
Not to mention Tabasco which also occupies a spot on my shelf
And my wife carries it with her
And you want to be my latex salesman...
I don’t watch the show and didn’t know that brilliant businessman, A Rod, was part of it. Since he is apparently willing to invest in sure fire duds, I need to get on that show and pitch my Alaska only ice cube tray idea.
As far as sliced sauce goes, slices are slices and sauces are sauces and the two shall never meet.
