Now that is funny! He should name the dog “Cheetah”, as in
MOnkey see, Monkey do.
The dog was mocking him. Which brings to mind the “accident.” I suspect the dog.

BTW: Does anyone here have an idea why my dog is constantly "scooting" his butt on my living room carpe... Oh, never mind! Now I get it!

Years ago I had a neighbor who’s dog limped. The neighbor was quite worried and concerned. Nothing seemed wrong, but still the poor little doggie limped. How sad. Even lots of love and attention - the front left paw was not working
Until it did work. It seems the little puppy started to limp on the right paw instead of the left. She forgot which paw was hurting. Turns out she was faking just to get all that love and attention.
Some masters train better than others.
When I was growing up, the family dog every once in a while would fake a limp just to see the veterinarian that she adored.
As soon as she saw him, she would run to him just to get some loving, tail wagging and going crazy. She’d be good for a while after that.
