After national outrage in response to tens of thousands of National Guard troops being sent outside to sleep in freezing parking garages, Biden issued a statement begging the troops to be patient while he writes up the order to send them to much warmer climates in Iraq and Syria.
"Listen, ya bunch of dumb pony soldiers," said Biden to a line of 3,000 soldiers waiting to use the bathroom. "I know you people are much better use to me when you're fighting some war in the Middle East. Hooah! Am I right? Don't worry. We'll get you off to Iraq soon. You won't be cold anymore, folks. It's 115 degrees there!"

Being in Regular Army and National Guard deployed, I guarantee there was much bitching and complaining about the inauguration fiasco. It was so asinine and a shit show.
NOT trying to give ‘aid and comfort’ to the enemy BUT, in my day the troops in DC would have been bivouacked in Rock Creek Park and bused to their positions when ‘needed’.
I thought it ‘strange’ when the pic of troops sleeping on the floor of the Capitol and someone (NP?) was screaming they needed cots, I figured that in ‘real life, old time military’ they would have deemed themselves ‘lucky’ to be under cover.
Next thing you know, all have panties in a tither because the troops were in a cold parking garage.
I realize they were in the US and plenty of hotel rooms probably available BUT you don’t ‘train’ by living in Trump Towers to fight your battles at Chosin Reservoir
The guys in the guard will be back in contact with civilians from their communities in a short time. The word will spread quickly. And thank you all for your willingness to endure such things.

I am with you 100%. I am also a great AVG (American Volunteer Group), better known as the Flying Tigers under the command of the great General.Claire Chennault. But...there were tons more of USA Military in China supporting the Chinese against the Japenese invaders. Also, many American bomber attacks with B17s & B29a orginated on China soil!!!
I was in Bejing in 1984 negotiating an aircraft maintenance contract with CAAC that covered two B747SP aircraft!!! The gent I was negotiating with, was the Deputy Director of Engineering. when he was a young lad he work for the AVG as an aircraft mechanic. He Loved Chennault and the whole AVG Group!!! He actually cried in front of me when he thought of all those American boys that flew for the tigers never came back from some of their missions.
He told me “The Bodies & Blood of American fighter pilots flying for Flying Tigers, forever lays in the soil of China. We shall always remember them and their service to our nation!!! I guess the Chinese do not have long memories!!! Sad!!!
