She asked him if he was new to the community and he said "no, I have owned a condo here for 20 years". She then said "I have been here for 15 years and I have never seen you around!". He then said "I have been in prison for the last 17 years!". She was stunned and finally asked him what he had done. He said that he had murdered his first wife! She was stunned again and after a long pause she said.

Sounds like Del Boca Vista Phase 2
We went to visit my mom and her husband a few weeks ago. They live in a non-golf senior community about 10 miles from the Villages.
Just for kicks, we drove over to The Villages. It was absolutely insane. Kind of like Disney for old people. Everything seemed contrived and programmed. The golf cart fashion show was equally nuts.
My mom’s place has tennis, bocce and pools. No golf course. The Villages has something like 40 courses. The best part of my mom’s place was the shop. They have a 5000 square foot shop full of all sorts of machine and hand tools for woodworking, metal craft etc.
It’s what sold her husband on the place. I could see myself living there in a few years.
I read about “Mr. Midnight” in a book titled “Leisureville’. It’s about what old folks are doing. The guy was a character. The chat room there said he was a legend in his own mind.

I retired and moved to Wisconsin. I am not the only one here. Lots of people who moved up here. Its cheap, its beautiful. I watch the sunrise every morning over Lake Michigan. 70% voted for Trump. They are very nice up here. No litter, graffiti, very little crime. Don’t need to wear a mask if you don’t want to. I did shovel my drive way today. But you can think of it as an exercise class.
As a fellow senior freeper, I can relate...and that’s hard to accept.
That said, I workout 5-6 times a week, eat healthy and feel MUCH younger than I am...at least for now.

Having worked in three nursing homes I can tell you just because there’s snow on the roof don’t mean there ain’t a fire in the furnace.

We've have texted several times since she moved there and she said she is doing a tremendous business with the old guys in the Villages. She can hardly keep up with the demand she says. She has made enough money in just over two years to buy her own small home for cash.
I guess there are plenty of frisky old ladies who live there but there are apparently plenty of old frisky gentlemen too with money burning a hole in their pockets.

I could definitely go for a “dedicated flosser” if he also enjoyed working out. At the gym.
Before you flame me: I grew up in the frozen north (NY), left 40 years ago for the same reasons, and never regretted it.
