I have to get away from politics if even for a little while. What's happened has disgusted me to no end and my blood pressure can't take it.
To that end, let's post pics of the coolest looking cars of the 40's, any nation, and see what happens.

Not many know Plymouth even made
a truck in 1940. I added your
pics to the albums of my build.
Mine looks a little different in
that the wheelbase is shortened
by 8”. The running boards, rear
fenders, and bed, have been
shortened to make the truck
look a little more proportional.
Dad had bought a ‘62 bird that
had seized engine. Replaced it with
a crate 390, and gave me the old
one to tinker with. Tore it all
apart, replaced some parts, had
a cylinder sleeved, and got it
running again. I sold that and
with the cash, bought my first
car. A 1965 Ford Falcon Ranchero.
Ended up going to school to get
a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
46 years, and now retired.
Auburn’s are one of the most beautiful cars ever built!

My apologies for the late reply.
I just touched the tip of the
iceberg on the builds description.
I’m a Mechanical Engineer and that
obsession has led to many of the
design criteria.
All of the frame, chassis layout,
headers, steering, and cooling
system were modeled in 3D CADD.
Drawings were generated, and
submitted to various vendors
for manufacture. My son and I
have built a custom 6’ bed, and
shortened the fenders and running
boards to fit.
The 446 is putting out right at
500 hp./550 ft/lbs tq. (dynoed).
A fun ride since the GVW is about
3200 lbs. Power to weight ratio
is going to be pretty good.
Over the years, I’ve got a bloody
fortune tied up in this. It’s
a labor of love (or insanity).
I fabricate stuff like this too but I'm just an ol' farm boy with no access to or ability with CAD so I just pull it out of my rear. My last project was a 4-link in my brothers '70 Roadrunner. Came out purdy good.
Your 1940 Plymouth pickup sounds crazy impressive and I think I speak for most here that we need pictures. Maybe it even needs it's own thread.
