“Same Family-different Subfamilies, Genuses, Subgenuses and Species.”
Yes. This is what I stated in the post you are responding to:
“Many [common colds] are coronaviruses, though not this family.”
I’m not sure if your response was meant to correct mine or confirm. Either way’s alright.
Covid is naturally persistent in heat because it has evolved to coexist on a bat that generates temperatures above 100 degrees during flight. The horseshoe bat that Covid comes from (Rhinolophidae) generates temperatures of almost 106 degrees Fahrenheit and it persists on the bat without killing it or being killed by it.
I use the word persistence because this is one of the metrics we use to evaluate the effectiveness of chemical and biological weapons-how long does the agent persist once dispersed. Typically, chemical weapon persistence decreases with temperature as heat causes the chemical agent to vaporize and dissipate into the atmosphere. UV radiation and heat are also naturally destructive to most biological organisms. Influenza, for example, has an envelope that hardens like a seed coating in cold temperatures and allows the virus to persist longer on shopping cart handles and such. Covid is not affected like this however, it persists in heat but it does seem to at least be inhibited by heat and UV light because, I hypothesize, it decreases its persistence. But it doesn't stop it and it will evolve to overcome this weakness I suspect.
You said they were different families actually. So yes, I was correcting you. Not to be a dick but just because I think the taxonomny of this virus is interesting since it’s manmade and all.
Praise be to Saint Sniffer of Delaware. Just like that Kung Flu is Kung Cold. We are saved. But still better lock down.
The “Spanish Flu” was not caused by a virus. It was a bacterial pneumonia caused by the injections given to the soldiers at Fort Riley, Kansas.
The disease was injected into them.
This is the benchmark disease that all the Fauci’s and Gates’ worked so hard to replicate, because of the number of deaths it produced:
“Utter nonsense. You can’t possibly be stupid enough to believe what you posted.”
Read the Wkipedia entry on betacoronavirus.
“You said they were different families actually. So yes, I was correcting you.”
Thanks for your candor.
Most accurately I think it would be different lineage.
At no time did I get a sense of it being deadly. I have asthma, chronic lung something-or-other, and Lyme. I didn’t have much cough/lung issues with either bout of covid.
Hubby had a bout of tough pneumonia, with partial collapsed lung about three years ago, otherwise, just high blood pressure. He thinks even a normal cold will cause his death. He did have a tough time with his lungs both times with covid.
So, the first time we had covid - we both thought it “acted” strange, and didn’t feel natural. This time it seemed the same, (not natural) but less obvious. I mean, how many times do you get a flu where the symptoms maintain the same level of severity for two weeks? The two times we have had this, that is one thing that was consistent, and that we both experienced. So, a flu descends, gets worse, wipes you out, then begins to lift - 5 to 7 days. This descends, gets very bad quickly (for some) & then the symptoms seem to stay the same severity for about 10 to 12 days. It lifts very slowly - about another 2 weeks.
I don’t think that “death” would even have entered my mind if not for all the constant media (and our Killer Cuomo) constantly talking about how deadly it is. I’ve had flu that left me nearer death.
Thanks for the link by the way.
I always appreciate a good review.
Thanks. Interesting comments.
I do think UV will kill it. It damages nucleic acids. It antisepticizes very well.
Ha ha, wear your suit.
The denial here is like a mass delusion event.
> Funny how none of this “good news” came out during Trumps term
It’s a Biden miracle!
Funny, that you say that because I was sick last November (before Covid was on anyone's radar) and it lasted 2-3 weeks-just like that.
I kept saying to my family and friends, "Something is not right with this illness. I am never sick for this long"
I never got massively sick, no cough but sick enough for a solid 2-3 weeks. I kept half joking I thought it was a bio-weapon.
I don't know what it was. I doubt Covid but it was strange as can be.
That said, I got H1N1 a few years back, solidly kicked my a$$for a complete 3 weeks, took 6 weeks to finally feel better.
I think it will too but sunshine will only inhibit it, it won’t stop it. We saw this during the summer and in various warmer climate countries. The vaccine is the best bet IMO.
The weird thing with the covid and us is that for about two weeks the symptoms don’t seem to “peak”, and then begin to subside with the occasional brief relapse. That would be a normal pattern with a cold or flu.
It’s like a holding pattern for 2 weeks or so - day after day after day. For about a ten day stretch we were sleeping about 18 - 20 hours PER DAY. Husband did it as well even though he only had a fever for a couple of days. I had one for a couple of days, it went away, then came back worse for 6 whole days. I rarely ever have a fever.
As it is now, 3 weeks out, hubby is still sleeping a lot. I am awake about 14 hours a day now, but have no energy. At all. So, I pay attention and do not push myself. I do not want to trigger anything, lol.
Dr.s here are saying that lately the covid patients are coming in with very low oxygen after having covid and doing OK with it for 10-14 days, then suddenly it turns bad. I wonder if that is due in part to people trying to get up and moving, thinking it’s safe enough to do like with a cold, or most flu.
We got a ox sensor. At the lowest, mine was registering about 80% for 2 days. I figured I was OK as long as it didn’t drop below that, and I stayed flat. It’s up to about 96% now. That’s close to normal for me.
It absolutely did. Just didn’t get much coverage. But the studies and the data were all coming out throughout last year.
There are four corona virus common colds that circulate almost every year.
In any given year, 20%-30% of common colds are caused by a corona virus.
Corona virus colds are most common on the USA west coast and in Pacific Rim Asian countries.
That is why Oregon and Washington state have a much lower death rate than many other states - we have a certain level of immunity to C-19 because most of us have already had a corona virus common cold.
The high rate of C-19 in California is caused mostly by the large immigration rate from Central America and Mexico.
A Wuhan, China lab was doing gain-of-function research on a SARS corona virus - paid for by USA taxpayers and gifted by Dr. Fauci - in the years before Wuhan had its massive C-19 outbreak.
Sorry for embarrassing you, Dino.
Sometimes learning can be a little painful.
Get a new doctor.
