They say a dog is a man’s best friend — and that was definitely the case for one patient of a hospital in northeastern Turkey, whose loyal pet waited by the entrance for six days until he was discharged.
When Cemal Senturk was transferred by ambulance to Medical Park Hospital in Trabzon on January 14, his dog, Boncuk, escaped from their apartment and followed him to the facility, where she waited patiently each day.
Hospital staff informed Senturk’s family about the whereabouts of his canine friend. But after Boncuk was brought back home, she managed to escape again — and returned to the hospital each day, Murat Ercan, the hospital’s international patient center director, told CNN.

Watch Hachi sometime.
I don’t know if that could have happened here.
Sometimes things like this jar me awake me a little bit.
Soooo very, very much we can’t do.
Sweet story.
I hope the owner feels well enough to give that pooch a whole lot of affection for a while.
Wasn’t there once a story about a German Shepard that dug a hole to lay/sleep in over his owners grave?
He obviously gave her a whole lot of love before he went in. Nothing more beautiful than the bond between a human and a dog. God had a really good day when He created that species.
Make sure you pick the Richard Gere movie with the dog, and not the one with the gerbil.
Dog’s are the most loyal creatures on the face of God’s green earth.
My most loyal pooch was a Glen of Imaal Terrier. I live on a farm and she would wait down at the end of the drive for me to come home even in blizzards or torrential rainstorms.
My dogs are all house dogs and the area around the house is contained by Invisible Fence, so none of them can wander off.
When my husband would let them out, she would stay out waiting for me. His calls didn’t matter to her. He would go out and try and bring her in, but she ran and he couldn’t catch her.
My best dog ever.
I utterly dread the day I’m too old to have a dog.
It is my opinion we don’t deserve something so noble as a dog.
Not necessary.
That was one of the most emotional movies I have ever seen. I love dogs and just happened to come upon that movie on my cable. Unbelievable movie. I also watched the Japanese version and it was also very moving.
True.
Saw a video of a man being hauled off to the hospital in an ambulance. The dog ran behind it and then climbed up on the bumper for a ride along. The EMTs gave up and took the dog inside their unit for the rest of the ride. I think that someone from the hospital took care of the dog while the owner recovered.
Hachi was a Akita. We had one. Smartest most loyal dog ever.
My son trained him easily. When he was working on cars, he would say get me the flathead screwdriver. Done. Get me pliers. Done. Want to go for walk? Circles in the air. Get your toothbrush. Done. Get the toothpaste. Done. Bring me your hat. Done. Get your leash. Done. Get your sunglasses. Done.
He could add and subtract and multiply with smallest cue.
He told me burglars were across street one time by staring intently. Cops came. Told them creeps were in bushes across street. True. Arrested. Cops asked me how I knew. Told them and they asked if they could have dog. No.
Sad doggie.
Dog is my favorite proof of God.
True that!
Mine too.
