What can we expect Biden to do about the cruise industry? Cruising is estimated to be a $150 billion global business, according to Travel Pulse, and the U.S. is its biggest market. But currently, all cruises are suspended under a “no sail order” until March 1 and no ships are allowed into U.S. waters. This date falls barely six weeks after Joe Biden’s inauguration. So the question is: Will he extend it?
If not, all cruise lines must pass the Centers for Disease Control’s “conditional sail order” that includes testing crew members, simulated test sailings and several mountains of paperwork.
However, Biden is said to be more conservative than Trump when it comes to reopening the cruise industry as he is led more by science — so the CDC may have more influence and it is known to err on the side of caution.
“I’ll simply follow the science,” Biden said in September. “I’ll level with the American people. I’ll take responsibility, and I’ll support rather than tear down the experts responsible for the day-to-day execution of the plan.”
It will also be down to Biden and his administration to decide if all cruise passengers will need to be vaccinated before embarkation. But, there is also a question around the legality of such a mandate. Analysts recently told Business Insider that “a new administration would likely be less sympathetic toward cruise lines reopening without a vaccine and more keen to follow doctor, scientist, and expert recommendation.”

CDC will require cruise lines to conduct “simulated test sailings.” What the hell is that and what does that have to do with COVID? Are they going to model the spread on a ship? There is no way on God’s Green Earth to do that. Every single model of spread and contagion has been wrong.
I’m not a pro at “simulated test sailings,” but this appears to be nothing but a bunch of Biden zero-meaning bureaucratic gobbledygook meant to make it look like they are doing something.
Things are now so unpredictable, any bizarre idea will IMHO be entertained by Biden coming from the malcontents , socialists, American haters ,and communists, who now have Biden's ear to get their opinions put into practice.

Yes, as long as it gives the illusion that they are ‘doing something’. Doing ‘something’ useful and effective is secondary to the illusion.

You will have to put on a mask before boarding an aircraft but you can take it off as soon as you get to the destination. Accomplishes nothing except creating an illusion of ‘doing something’.
All travel will require vax certs, it’s just that simple. Every European nation and their airlines already have the ground work in place. Expect South America and Asia to follow suit. Want to cruise you have to be one of the immunes, same for international flights bank on it. Having spent 11+ years in the service we didn’t get to go to some parts of the world without jabs. Latin America, Africa and South East Asia all required jabs.

Those models have been around since ships have sailed. It was a crapshoot getting underway on a military ship. At least 10-20% of the crew would have the screaming sh!ts withing 72 hours of sailing. Modern bearthing makes it better but not by much.

The final payment date for my April 24th cruise on the New Mardi Gras was officially Jan 24 but Carnival extended it out to Feb 22...Today it was extended further to Mar 10...
It seems when they get easy about rules a new cancellation period accrues soon after...
The military jabed me with all kinds of stuff I have a packet from Atlanta retention command with everything in it last I counted it was near 200 injections. I’m very much alive and well I don’t have irrational fear of vaccines. Science is science of the process is followed the outcome is proven safe for most. Every vaccine EVER made has had adverse reactions for a small percentage that just how it works.The choice must be made with risk reward calculus. Currently 10.5 million Americans have gotten the jab and 56 have died and those 56 could have died anyways either way that’s 56/10.5 million vs a CFR of 1 to 3% for 40+ with at least one precondition. Do the math it’s Judah is not to take the cure with those numbers. I am looking forward to having walking immunity and the cheap tickets while using my immunity passport.
