I came across a book entitled THE CENTURION when I was a boy. It was written by a Frenchman named Jean Larteguy (pen name). The book is about a group of French Paratroop Officers in the 1950s in Vietnam, France and Algeria. Marvelous book.
One of the scenes in the book is an alley in Paris. There are many cats in the alley symbolizing the citizens of France. The leader of the alleycats, if I remember right, is a big, white male who is missing an eye. He is the king of the alleycats.
A woman tosses a bag of garbage into the alley. The cats run to it to see if there is anything in the garbage bag for them. The king fights and takes control of the sack of garbage.
The king proudly drags his treasure of garbage down the alley. He doesn’t realize that the bag has a hole in it and the garbage is spilling out of the bag and into the alley behind him. The other cats in the alley quickly gobble up the garbage treasure.
The king of the alleycats jumps up on his garbage can throne to enjoy his fiercely won treasure of garbage. The bag is empty.
The king of the alleycats has fought and won a prize of nothing while he sits on his garbage can throne watching his fellow alleycats scramble for garbage.
Now, let us substitute Biden for the king of the alleycats. The alleycats are the Democrat Party. The alley is Washington, D.C..
