Skip to comments. The Mythical Snow Monster that Roams the Mountains: The Yeti

In Asia, a huge, hairy ape-man stomps through the snowy Himalayan mountain range, hunting for prey and terrorizing local people.
Or so the legend goes.
For generations, stories of the yeti, aka the abominable snowman, have been told. Does he live in an icy cave? Is he related to Bigfoot, the ape-man said to roam the forests of the northwestern United States? Is the monster real?
According to the BBC, the mythical monster is rooted in the folklore of the Sherpa, the communities that live in the mountains of eastern Nepal.
The yeti or a group of yetis always are a symbol of danger in Sherpa folklore. In some stories, the yeti sets his sights on and attacks a group of hunters or kidnaps a child from town. Nearly all of the yeti legends are a warning to stay home or to avoid dangerous wild animals.
But is the yeti real? Some people believe so, though there’s little hard evidence yet. Giant footprints, seemingly too big to be from a bear or a man, have been found in the snow, and many explorers have reported seeing eight-foot tall creatures walking the mountain ranges, according to Live Science.
Wasn’t he on Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer with Yukon Cornelius?
The Yeti is a myth, much like the sasquatch or the shiksa.
I saw a yeti and a sasquatch riding the Loch Ness monster. That’s got to count for something.
Is the yeti, sasquatch, Big Foot, etc. real. That is the question.
If you’ve ever seen Rosie O’Donnell, Tracy Abrams, Nancy Pelosi without her tons of makeup, Kathy Griffin, Michael Moore, etc. in their hair-suits, then you know that the answer is “YES”.
Obama was married to one.
Yeti and the like have spawned a very strong cottage industry promoting their existence. I wait for solid evidence of the existence of such a beast.
I bet some people who have had actual encounters with said “mythical” entity would beat down, hard, the author of this article.
The Yeti and Sasquatch have mystical powers.
Remember the Shadow stories about the guy who had the power to cloud men’s minds and thereby become invisible?
These creatures are real, but they have power to cloud men’s cameras, so all their pictures are blurry.
UFOs have the same power.
“Obama was married to one.”
Is married to one. But still,
your post is humorous.
Right. How is it, in a time when every human on the planet carries a camera, the only picture of the Loch Ness monster is that blurry photo from 1938? The same with that film of the Sasquatch.
it’s not too mythical my way...
damn thing has all kinds of coolers and beverage cups selling in stores here...

Yeh, and considering the large numbers required in a given species to sustain life across multiple generations one must ask why no one has stumbled on any such tribes, herds, or any such group. 🥴
Walk like the first wookie...
Finally.. A real news story!!
I got a great picture of a whole-body print once on a Cannon DLSR. When I looked at it later that one photo came out all-white. Pictures before and after it were normal.
I saw a werewolf drinking a piña colada at Trader Vics. And his hair was perfect.
