There was no retraction.

They simply reprinted the statement given them [under threat of lawsuit, no doubt] that included the canned apology.

Rather clever, I think.

American Thinker is off my list of readable websites as they cave to Dominion’s lies.

Is it a retraction though? Looks like the entire letter was written by Dominion, and American Thinker just said ‘ok, we’ll publish the letter (so the whole world can see it)’.

The newspapers that published Ted Kaczynski’s manifesto didn’t have to agree with it to publish it.

American Thinker has gone into CYA mode.

• They have turned off comments, because “they didn’t have the staff to moderate comments”; in other words: they were afraid of being cancelled like Parler.
• They have groveled before Dominion software.

I saw the Pillsbury Peg Boy Jonah Goldberg all smug with this legal threat.

Let’s see what happens with Sidney Powell. I am waiting for her case.

Dominion claimed it wasnt connected to the internet, and it was, because the company changed things remotely in real time when they were called.

Also high school students did hack the voting machines in about 2 minutes.

I guess that's why they decided to disable comments.

Was this guy lying or delusional?

Here are some questions that weren’t addressed.

1. Do the Dominion System Voting machines share substantial algorithms and source code logic with the SmartMatic voting machines developed for Venezuela’s elections?

2. Do Dominion tabulation and adjudication servers connect to the internet to perform any functions during vote processing?

3. Do Dominion systems allow adjudicators and system administrators to share credentials such that there is no ability to audit individuals and their actions on the machines?

5. Although Dominion system employees may not have engaged in fraud does the Dominion System equipment and software make fraudulent use of their system virtually impossible using well defined cybersecurity practices and designs? If so why did the state of Texas find your machines completely deficient and unsuitable for public use?

Not sure what’s weird about it, as you claim in the title. Seems pretty straightforward.

The apology/retraction doesn’t seem very sincere, but a “if you insist we apologize, we’re sorry” kind of thing. It is a tacit admission of guilt and it does show that these media outlets, blogs, kooky youtubers and tweeters do NOT have evidence to back up their crazy claims. They are backing down because they realize they crossed a line and placed themselves in legal jeopardy.

It remains to be seen what happens when the far left controls the WH and both houses of congress. Will congress and the DOJ go after those that took things further than simple defamation? Those that stirred insurrection, called for military tribunals, executions or overthrow of the government? Leftist governments have a history of doing so, and the left wing media is begging them to “punish” Trump supporters. Being “cancelled” isn’t enough. They want blood.

“American Thinker and contributors Andrea Widburg, R.D. Wedge, Brian Tomlinson, and Peggy Ryan have published pieces on www.AmericanThinker.com that falsely accuse US Dominion Inc., Dominion Voting Systems, Inc., and Dominion Voting Systems Corporation (collectively “Dominion”) of conspiring to steal the November 2020 election from Donald Trump. These pieces rely on discredited sources who have peddled debunked theories about Dominion’s supposed ties to Venezuela, fraud on Dominion’s machines that resulted in massive vote switching or weighted votes, and other claims falsely stating that there is credible evidence that Dominion acted fraudulently.

These statements are completely false and have no basis in fact. Industry experts and public officials alike have confirmed that Dominion conducted itself appropriately and that there is simply no evidence to support these claims.

It was wrong for us to publish these false statements. We apologize to Dominion for all of the harm this caused them and their employees. We also apologize to our readers for abandoning 9 journalistic principles and misrepresenting Dominion’s track record and its limited role in tabulating votes for the November 2020 election. We regret this grave error. “

CAVE.
