REPORT: McConnell Believes Trump Committed Impeachable Offenses (NYT sites anonymous sources, Hummmmm) BS Alert

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has reportedly told his Republican colleagues that President Donald Trump committed impeachable offenses and that he is fine with Democrats moving forward with impeachment.

The New York Times released a report Tuesday, citing anonymous sources, saying that McConnell is pleased Democrats will try to impeach Trump, as it will help separate the Republican party from Trump. Rioters supporting Trump stormed the U.S. capitol Wednesday, committing acts of vandalism and violence and postponing the electoral college certification process, forcing members of Congress to evacuate the building.

Democrats in the House of Representatives introduced at least one article of impeachment against Trump on Monday morning after the pro-Trump mob stormed the U.S. Capitol.

>> “I really am beginning to think the best approach is try to infiltrate the Democrats...The Republicans are irrelevant now, so might as well get with the winning team.” <<

That sounds like a whimsical idea, and we probably aren’t anywhere close to the point at which it would be advisable, but I wouldn’t rule it out. The segregationist South was in effect a one-party system, where with few exceptions anyone who wanted to participate in the government had to belong to the Democrat party. Also in Communist or Fascist dictatorships joining the ruling party is expected, but people adhere to its positions to varying degrees. Observers desperate for an alternative try to seek out hints among the ruling elite that someone might dissent in some small way.

If the United States moves toward a de facto dictatorship — whether soft or hard — infiltrating the Democrats by devious means may be one of the few options remaining for opposition. If non-Democrats are going to be persecuted, let’s everyone become a Democrat. :-)

Still, that kind of opposition takes decades to produce positive results, maybe generations to undermine the system (e.g., the USSR). Even with our system that previously allowed dissent, much of the opposition to it was covert, and not open in revealing its aims. It took decades to be undermined, and to produce the negative results that are threatening us now.

In reality I believe it would have been almost 90 million before the J@goffs at Dominion started taking votes away in mass.

Trump crushed Biden so bad that years from now, those who took part in the Great Steal will talk about it to their grandchildren. And how that week they never worked so hard in their lives as they did during the Great Steal, and how they slept for days to recover from all that work. How they never want to do something like that again, and wouldn’t wish that kind of work upon their worst enemy.

I’m writing about the Republican party imploding immediately after an election in which it won most of the races. Still, it lost power at the federal level — very important with the Democrats intent on ruling from there — and if it turns against Trump supporters, I think its prospects are dim. Subtract the Trump supporters, and how many races would it have won?

I warned you people about Mitch McConnell, but you didn’t believe me. You said he’s good on judges.

Yet anther reason my decision to leave the Republican Party was the right one!

I voted in my last election November 3, 2020! Elections going forward are no different than elections in any Banana Republic or Communist State. They mean NOTHING!

NPR was gloating today about people leaving the GOP, so whatever message you intended to send is being received as anger against Trump, not against the GOP. Liberals are loving it.

....

I could give a squirt of piss what NPR reported, or what they think! I’ve grabbed my ankles for the last time! You want to stay in the GOP, you go right ahead! I’m not giving these POS RINO’s any more credibility staying in the Republican Party.

BTW, my Senators are Mitt Romney and Mike Lee!

It really doesn’t matter anyway; the Dems will be in power the rest of our lives.

Maybe it’s time to push for “sanctuary areas” where the current regime’s orders will be ignored. Or to demand secession if the rights of the opposition aren’t respected.

The red states are the sanctuaries. Red states' governors, attorney generals and legislatures, must start ignoring the Federal Government and especially the USSC, since it abdicated it's responsibility to hear Texas' case against the states which failed to ensure fair elections.
