What it's like to use a De-Googled phone in real life? (Q&A of concerns)

What is it actually like to use a de-Googled Android phone as a daily driver? Will it feel like you became a luddite or a cave man eschewing tech? Is it actually usable? What apps can you run? What about navigation? Will you survive without Google? Does it change how the cell phone works? Does it affect the battery? Do we need to change habits to keep privacy with a de-Googled phone? Do I lose privacy when I log on to another app?

This video discusses the actual real life experience of using Android Open Source Project (AOSP) on a phone without GAPPS (Google Apps). It will discuss what's possible and what the expected limitations are. It will discuss if this is usable as a daily driver.

We buy androids but get one that will let us use the basic features without adding the Google account. We disable every default app or delete them except for what we absolutely what we need alike camera and contacts and texting. Our carrier supplies our internet data connection without needing google. And instead of GPS, which is for idiots, we pull up map images on DDG.

Youtube is almost unavoidable. I do find it funny that Gulag slows videos on how to avoid Gulag on youtube.

LineageOS, GrapheneOS, CopperheadOS, CalyxOS

All only work on the google Pixel line of phones. I suppose if you buy a used one, you won’t be contributing to google much.

Lineage is available for many different phones, certainly not just for the Pixel line. If Lineage doesn’t have an official ROM for a particular phone, you can still download ClockWorkMod (Lineage’s predecessor) ROMS for just about any Android phone. Fixing do that to my Note 2 tomorrow. F*ck Google.

I know if you jailbreak an ATT the network detects it and bounces you out. So what network would you use?
