The World No. 3 golfer was heard over a Golf Channel broadcast of a PGA Tour tournament in Hawaii muttering a homophobic slur after missing a putt in the third round.
“It’s terrible. I’m extremely embarrassed. It’s not who I am,” he continued. “It’s not the kind of person that I am. But it’s … unfortunately I did it and I have to own up to it and I’m very apologetic.
“Like I said, it’s in excusable. I’m speechless. … it’s bad. There’s no other way to put it. I need to do better. I need to be better. It’s definitely a learning experience. I deeply apologize to anyone and everybody who I offended and I’ll be better because of it.”
Thomas, the reigning champion of the tournament, finished the day tied for fifth place.
The PGA Tour issued a statement, according to Golf Digest: “As he expressed after his round, we agree that Justin’s comment was unacceptable.”
Thomas is expected to be fined for conduct.

It occurs to me that the rabid response from the Left to any perceived ‘sin’ by anyone on the Right is a complete contradiction of how God operates in response to our real sins and missteps.
The Left would condemn us, that they hate so, now and forever with no hope of restoration for any ‘failure’ on our part.
God, on the other hand, provides a way out of any hole we dig for ourselves through faith in what Jesus did on our behalf on the cross.
He should have added, “not that there’s anything wrong with that.”
In my golf league, everyone would be exiled to a gulag if there were cameras (i.e. swearing, drinking, smoking, laughing at one anothers’ misfortune).
I usually do fine until my back starts acting up around the 8th hole. Then, there is no limit to the myriad of awful things I say about myself.
In Maoist Chia it was the government who did this sort of thing. In America, private organizations and individuals take the initiative. What a country.
In a sane world that still had a sense of humor, that would have elicited a chuckle and we all would have moved on.
That’s one reason why I refuse to ever call them “bleeding hearts”. They are vindictive, nasty people who rarely show any compassion. They don’t really care about the poor, minorities, etc. They just view them as tools to help bring about the revolution.
