The World No. 3 golfer was heard over a Golf Channel broadcast of a PGA Tour tournament in Hawaii muttering a homophobic slur after missing a putt in the third round.
“It’s terrible. I’m extremely embarrassed. It’s not who I am,” he continued. “It’s not the kind of person that I am. But it’s … unfortunately I did it and I have to own up to it and I’m very apologetic.
“Like I said, it’s in excusable. I’m speechless. … it’s bad. There’s no other way to put it. I need to do better. I need to be better. It’s definitely a learning experience. I deeply apologize to anyone and everybody who I offended and I’ll be better because of it.”
Thomas, the reigning champion of the tournament, finished the day tied for fifth place.
The PGA Tour issued a statement, according to Golf Digest: “As he expressed after his round, we agree that Justin’s comment was unacceptable.”
Thomas is expected to be fined for conduct.

If he issued any medium of support for Trump in the past, this will get much worse for him.

He better immediately prostrate himself, admit to heresy, and throw himself at the mercy of the PC inquisition.

When I heard all the groveling and cowardly comments I was certain that is what he must have muttered.
Now that the PGA has announced that they’ve delisted Trump’s New jersey course I’m done with the PGA. They’re now on the same “pay no mind” list I keep as are the NFL,the NBA,MLB,the NHL and top tier tennis.
Perhaps community service is the answer, offer to drive Mayor Pete to his nail appointments might suffice.

Oh he did. You can be sure there will be a fine, and the PGA will “suggest” Thomas do LGBTQ outreach, (give them money).

When Thom Brenneman used that term thinking his mic wasn’t hot, he was canned from Fox Sports immediately. I think he now broadcasts from Puerto Rico.

That word is verboten, it must be removed from our language, it is terribly hurtful.

If you are directing a slur at yourself and not towards anyone else, it is really no one else's business, but I empathize with his difficult position so he needed to issue a self-preservation apology so as not to be 'wished into the cornfield'.
Or a bundle of sticks.....................
