How soon before new taxes hit everyone? I see dems hitting everyone with huge taxes across the board.

With the green new deal and God only knows what else the dems will do, I can't imagine how EVERY petroleum product wont get hammered with big taxes. They could very likely hit all fracking companies, heck the whole industry, with some kind of environmental tax. I see income tax both state and federal getting hit hard too. A Covid fund tax?

Trump set up these election challenges, while hiring the lowest-cost, most incompetent lawyers in the nation, to get set up for another run. Otherwise, he’d have conceded from the git-go. He *knew* there was no way he could prevail, and therefore chose to use this as a fund-raising opportunity, as well as a chance to create a bloody shirt meme he could use to 2024. I think it’s a brilliant strategy, health permitting.

In case you’re wondering, Trump has raised hundreds of millions, while spending a few million on lawyers. That’s a huge 2024 campaign war chest ready to go. And if he runs, his name alone will psych out all potential GOP challengers. Anyone who beats him in the primaries is guaranteed to lose in the general since, at minimum, 10% of the GOP vote will stay home or vote for the other guy just to stick it to the Judas. And that’s not just for that election, but in *any* future election. Which is why no serious GOP contender will challenge Trump.

> I’d call it theft. <
And you’d be right. If you were forced into government bonds paying say 2% while the real rate of inflation was 6%, they’d be stealing 4% from you each year.
By the way, I’ll bet you a dollar that Congressional retirement plans would be exempt from all that. They’ll say something like “We need to exempt the Congressional plans to encourage good people to run for office.”

Pelosi’s impeachment effort isn’t just a show trial. It’s an attempt to legally prevent him from running, via a Senate conviction. She’s betting that at least 17 of the Republican Senators will vote that way.
Rasmussen’s approval numbers just came in - Trump is at 51%. That means that en masse, Republican voters support him. Any GOP senator who goes after Trump may have committed political suicide. The Senator from Sassy, NE, has slammed Trump at every opportunity. He voted no at the 2020 impeachment trial. Romney voted yes. Romney’s *UT* disapproval number is 84%. That airport incident with UT Trump supporters giving Romney a hard time was no fluke. A roach could walk in and beat Romney in the UT GOP primary.

They won’t be “taxes” directly. Everything will be more expensive from regulations and mandates. The corporations will love it. My tax rates went down and I expanded my business 4 fold under Trumpism. Under COVIDISM I’m basically out of business as out wonderful governor has kept the economy shut for 10 months now. I don’t expect any recovery in my current business with Biden’s regulatory army on the horizon. And besides, i’m sure every post, every utterance, every email, every donation to conservative causes, I have ever made will be made public and goons will ensure it shuts down.
Higher gas prices. Ammunition if your guns aren’t at the bottom of a lake. Food will skyrocket. Electricity will “necessarily” skyrocket.

[I haven’t read about any confiscation plans, yet. But I’ve read about plans to forcibly convert a portion of everyone’s 401k’s into 30-year government bonds paying maybe 2 or 3%.
That wouldn’t be theft (so they say), because they’re not taking anything from you. They’re just moving your money around a bit.]
Very skeptical about this measure. Great way to give the GOP the White House and super-majorities in Congress.

I am meeting with a custom jeweler tomorrow about the possibility of buying two to three ounces of Gold. I do not like coins because you buy the coin not just the gold. I would prefer a Troy ounce bar.

What they will do is “Borrow” money from your 401k. They will return it when you retire at a lower interest rate of course. If they ever return it.

You’re assuming that borrowing is the only way to finance a deficit. It isn’t. We don’t even have to run deficits. Paper is cheap. People say the Feddle government has been printing money. It hasn’t. When it prints money, we’ll know. That’s when it will cost $35m to buy a loaf of bread.

Major loopholes will be built
The loopholes will only be helpful for big international corporations and the very wealthy.
The middle class will get torched.

Yeah that’s a great point - i think given how few people have assets it’ll be politically easier to raid 401ks than to hyper inflate, but they could easily go that route first. arguably QE is just that and the inflation is onlyin RE and stock.

Pretty stupid if they do that as the will set up the return on the republicans in 2022.
So we can vote red again? If the vote counting is rigged...
Does anyone here think that vote counting in this country will ever be free or fair again? I dont.
