Donald Trump Holds The Future of the Republican Party in his Hands
DB Update ^ | January 9,2021 | David Blackmon

Posted on 01/10/2021 3:50:34 PM PST by Hojczyk

I have never been in favor of blowing the whole thing up and starting over where the Republican Party is concerned. At similar junctures in the past, such as January 2009, it has always seemed to be that it would be more productive to work to reform the GOP from within. Given this current situation, and the near-universal disaffection of Trump voters from the GOP representatives they have sadly helped to elect, it is difficult to maintain that outlook any longer.

At best, the Republican Party has proven itself to be largely corrupt and hopelessly inept over the past four years. At worst, its elected representatives have demonstrated that, by and large, they have nothing but contempt for the people who elected them, as most recently demonstrated by their refusal to do anything to rein in the abuses of the Big Tech monopolies.

Donald Trump had 88 million followers to his now-banned Twitter account. Should he choose to do so, he has the ability to now lead much of this loyal base of support completely away from the Republican Party and establish a political party of his own. Given that Trump has no more use for the GOP’s elected officials than his supporters do, it seems unarguably true that the Republican Party’s continued existence as a national force in American politics stands on thinner ice than it ever has in the past.

It couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of people.

How did we get Loeffler in GA instead of Collins then? They’re not retiring for the most part. Linda, Burr, Cornyn, the Turtle, etc. They think they ARE the party. I say the Republicans go extinct. I will not vote for anyone who didn’t fight for Trump. And I won’t worry about how bad the other side is when Republicans don’t care about letting them have control.

Once Democrats have total control on top of modern technology and with direction from their masters in China, we won’t have any real elections any more, so it really doesn’t matter if we support the Republicans or not.

Correct. Continue to put good Republicans in office like Scalise and the Louisiana delegation.

Doing this will help
THE GEORGIA RESULTS
SEND IN AN ARMY OF FED PROSECUTORS AND DO THIS

There were a series of fraudulent voting charges here. Were they enforced and corrected before this election took place ? If they weren’t is not a review called for ?
If the Georgia Secretary of State is in charge of voting he has the responsibility of enforcing the state’s regulations as to who votes. And eliminate those from voter lists who don’t qualify.

Assign prosecutors to personally canvass and investigate. Check if military actually voted by asking them. Identify all voters by checking on their residency and citizenship. If found they do not qualify charge Illegals including state visitors known as snowbirds also include any technical computer fraudulent programming testimony when presenting to the court and get these election results tossed. Try and get it done SAP before the 20th

You are right. Either within the Republican party or outside of it, Trump supporters will never, ever come close to winning any elections. They have proved they can commit obvious fraud and nothing is done. Idiot Republicans think this was a one time deal to get rid of Trump. They don’t understand the left.

“I guess Blackmon has not heard about Trump invoking the Insurrection Act.”

Because he hasn’t. Nor will he.

Now is the perfect time to start a new political party, with Trump at the helm.

It used to be said it would be better to "work from within" to change the existing party but that is no longer operative. If a man like Donald Trump couldn't turn this bunch of losers into winners, nobody ever will. The establishment Republicans seem rather content to be the minority party. So long as they get their perks and goodies, that is all that matters to them.

Due to the virtual and connected world we live in today, it need not take years to build out a new party. It can effectively be done in days or weeks.

Trump will instantly bring 70-80 million people into the new party. The Republican Party will very quickly go the way of the Whigs, and good riddance. Let's make sure they take Mitt Romney and his ilk with them into obscurity.

Trump can spend the next two years building out the infrastructure of the party. Step #1 will be developing a slate of "America first" candidates to compete for House and Senate seats in the 2022 mid-terms. Yes, we have some current worthy Republicans already in place that merely need to switch to the new party.

Goal will be to win the House and take back the Senate. Then the focus will become the 2024 elections - taking back the White House and building super-majorities in House and Senate.

Yes, our election system needs to be reformed to eliminate the chance of the stolen elections we saw in 2020. That goes without saying. But we need to proceed rapidly with the aforementioned.

The GOP must die.

Already committed suicide. They are just flopping on dry land.

"I would rather have the Democrats in front of me than the Republicans behind me."

Well said. The GOP is nothing but a sham party, just controlled opposition.

My grandfather was in the Pacific theater in WWII. However, it didn’t stop him from detesting the French.

He told me when I was a young officer, “The French, they f*ck with their faces and fight with their feet.”

I cannot, anywhere, find a more apt description of the GOP.

Coward, traitorous lot that make the French seem valorous.

I think Patton said, “I’d rather have two German Divisions in front of me than three French Divisions behind me.”

I will still metaphorically grind my boot in their collective faces as they take their last gasp. They are the worst.

“The specifically retired in 2018 because after refusing to overturn Obamacare (after running on that for nearly 10 years) the GOP was tired of taking heat for not helping Trump. So they decided to hand the house to the dems and let them be open opposition to Trump as opposed to the hidden opposition that the GOP had been. The ran half assed campaigns and had a bunch of safe members retire unexpectedly to seal the deal.

“They had no issues with turning their seats over to dems but they ill cling to those seats until it’s pried out of their cold dead hands in order to keep MAGA people from taking them.”

Very astute observations.

Excellent post! I’m exactly where he is: I used to be opposed to a new party but events have changed my mind.

The new-party route will be difficult. The reason to go that route anyway is that the reform-the-GOP route would be impossible. The never-Trump RINOs just have too much entrenched control.

Flake left because his approval rating amongst Republicans was at 15%.

Flake? He was a RINO!

The commies have already defined how they will win all future elections and no one will stand in their way. The two party system no longer exists, if it ever has, in this country.

You have to, somehow, overcome the state laws that make a third party almost impossible to get on the ballot. I think that some targeted law suits might work to declare those laws unconstitutional, but in the meantime there are signature requirements that will require a massive effort to get enough that can’t be ruled invalid. If you can’t get on the ballot you have no chance to change the political landscape.

Hard to see how our new masters, with complete control over us (as we’ve seen in the past 72 hours), will permit any viable opposition to develop.

The days of being able to battle the Democrats in the ‘battle of ideas’ and then have accountable elections ended on Dec. 11, 2020, when Texas and 19 other states were told by a 6-3 Republican US Supreme Court that they’re ‘unaffected’ by the outcome of presidential elections (i.e., they have no ‘standing’).

Now all we can do is await our fate (or execute options that might still be open to us - although those options will quickly close).
