OPINION These Trump policies reduced economic inequality — will Biden dare to keep them?
NY Post ^ | 09 Jan 2021 | Michael Barone

...while the narrow Dem majorities will naturally reverse some Trump policies, there’s a serious argument for pausing to consider what their predecessors got right.

Such as economic equity. The macroeconomy during the first three Trump years grew robustly, with real median household income rising 9 percent after near-zero growth from 1999 to 2016.

Even more striking, gains in the Trump years were greatest at the low-income levels, rather than high-income levels: 4.7 percent wage growth among the lowest quarter of earners in 2019, with the bottom 90 percent increasing their share of overall earnings for the first time in a decade...

...In campaigning, President-elect Joe Biden and other Democrats suggested they will completely reverse what they consider to be the hateful and bigoted Trump immigration policies. But now they are suddenly hesitant....perhaps it’s a recognition by politicians who fancy themselves the protectors of the little guy, even as they brag about how much money their voters make, that policies they’ve called racist have been producing economic gains they’ve for years...not delivered ...

Trump’s policies were not intended to reduce inequality, that was a by-product. The Left wants to loudly announce its “good” intentions, then fail, but still receive credit for the intention. No, they will try to strip away literally everything that President Trump accomplished.

Biden’s regime will be the Reign of Terror by Woke Capital. They will crush the productive classes to enrich the elites and underclass all under the twin banners of Gay Pride and BLM.

There will be tremendous pressure on Biden to remove the property tax deduction that Trump got passed. That is truly a tax break for the “rich”, but it is also an incentive for lefty states to benefit from high property taxes.

The last thing the Rats want is economic equality. But they do want to impoverish the middle class, which gives them a much larger group dependent on government. Party officials and oligarchs will be filthy rich at the top.

NEVER take what the Rats say at face value. Rarely do they reveal their real goals. They just spew high-minded lies to drum up support from low-information citizens. Now they are working feverishly to control the flow of information.

No. They aren’t for lifting the lower economic levels. They are for keeping them dependent and voting for Dems. In fact, they will want to break any idea that the Trump administration was a good time economically as quickly as possible. The Chinese Flu is step one. Then they will vastly increase illegal immigration. They don’t even have to tear down the wall. Intead they just stop enforcement. No border patrol in the area means that a ladder can be leaned against the wall and everyone can just climb over. Anyone who takes pictures or videos will be deemed a racist and be deplatformed on social media. The official number of illegals will stay at the farsical eleven million. It’s just that the upward pressure on wages will drop. No longer will you see signs in fast food restaurants advertising wages dollars above minimum wage.

The sole reason for economic inequality is inequality. There are lots of citizens that are unequal to their betters. As a matter of fact half of American citizens are unequal to the other half.

The reason that Africans were enslaved is because they were at root unequal to their enslaving betters.

Why does everyone think economic equality is a good thing? The assumption, then, is that market talents are equally distributed amongst workers. I seriously doubt that. This country was built upon the concept that hard work and effort by the individual results in an improved standard of living. You are not "entitled" nor "deserve" more than whatever your effort produces. Like it or not, it is the people at the upper level of the income stream who create jobs for most other people. How many of you were hired by a poor person?

Liberals make the false assumption that income equality is a laudable goal. I don't buy that. I think the goal should be an increasing standard of living for all. The libs think that, if I have 15% of the income and you only have 10%, and the rich have all the rest, the only way for you to improve your lot is to take income away from me and the rich.

Wrong!

If we keep our relative shares and the rich invest such that the size of the pie increases through economic growth, we all experience a rising standard of living. Libs need to learn that a rising tide lifts all boats. The best thing Biden can do is put forth those policies that foster economic growth.

“Biden’s policies” will be the policies of the monsters who stole the election on his behalf.
