I am somewhat resigned to the double standard now

The "double standard" as perceived is the cancel culture canceling conservatives. With the Dems controlling the all three "houses", it will go much faster now.

By 2024, a Republican candidate may not be able to run advertisements anywhere.

It’s either piling on...or sending a Sicilian-style message to an “out-lander”.

I wish you were wrong, but sadly I think you have described the future.

The first CW may very well take place in the GOP itself.

I don’t WANT a civil war.

I want the constitution upheld and the laws of the United States to be enforced FAIRLY.
I want the governors and leaders of our states to stop acting like tinpot dictators and end the lockdowns.
I want cancel culture stopped.
I want the Democrats (and Republicans) to stop implementing a communist takeover.

I am a FREE MAN in a FREE COUNTRY who believes in LIBERTY.

You threaten that (and you are) then we’ll come to body blows.

So they blame Trump for reacting to having the election stolen and don’t identify the underlying cause of the civil war.

The Revolutionary War was a major civil war: 1/3 Tory, 1/3 Patriot, 1/3 Neutral.

The French & Indian War (aka “7 Years War”) was the first world war.

The media are the driving force of our body politic.

Look at how easily they control the republicrats. That might have been the most horrifying thing we saw two days ago. Republicrats falling over themselves to condemn their own voters? Republicrats who pledged to object to the election results based on the facts who suddenly withdrew their objections because of an emotional response to bad behavior by a few people?

That showed the true power of the media. Cabinet secretaries and administrative people resigning in protest. Protest of “what”? Protest based on the media narrative.

The DC bubble is a place where they all drink the same swamp water. Who makes that water? The same media they all consume. It is tragic.

Get creative.

POWs in WWII, any chance they had they caused chaos and mayhem for the Nazi’s.

Not going to be any civil war in the form of a conflict. That just isn’t ever going to happen in a complex and wealthy country like ours. Americans are simply too comfortable and have too much to lose to engage in armed conflict with one another.

But we do have persistent and deep divisions that are irreconcilable. One side want freedom, liberty and order while the other is committed to control, power and suppression. There is no bridging that kind of ideological chasm. On top of that we are a tribal country with increasing differences over morality, the role of government and the need for law and order.

Rather than open conflict we may see some form of separation occur. The Left has their sanctuary cities and states. We can do the same thing. After all, it is THEY who set the precedent for it.

For crying out loud! The question asked was “Do you believe there will be civil war OR other significant upheaval?”

Upheaval is a far cry from war.

We have crossed the threshold of “inevitable”. I am of the opinion that once 30% of both sides believe that a civil war is likely to happen, the slide down the slippery slope has started and there is no coming back.

Of course the DNC has no fault in this feeling, only the racist, sexist, homophobe Nazis are to blame.

They are calling us seditionists and some of them are calling for the expulsion of members of congress who dare question the result of the election...I am somewhat resigned to the double standard now, but all of us should continue to point it out....

Point it out at every opportunity...There are so many examples of it that the Rat party has long shown itself to be the party of the double standard and the single minded purpose to shred the Constitution.

The truth is that when it comes to this kind of thing, people are no longer judged on what they actually do. They're judged solely on why they did it. Thus, if you burn out a business in Kenosha, Wisconsin, because you are angry at a police shooting, you are a protestor. But if you sit in Nancy Pelosi’s chair for five minutes after occupying congress, because you are angry at an election, you are a domestic terrorist....Dr. John Ray

Nanzi and Co. are purposely fanning the flames. Their threat to impeach and convict him next week if the 25th Amendment isn’t used to get rid of him IS the Rubicon...because if convicted, Trump could never hold federal office again. It isn’t bad enough that they denied us our choice via massive cheating, they clearly wish to PERMANENTLY deny us our choice via this underhanded means.

Now, I don’t think that they’ll succeed - frankly, I don’t think that they’ll even start the formalities...but the Dems are utter lunatics, so who really knows?

Human nature and history seems to say that there won’t be a civil upheaval with our societal conditions. We did things the Romans could only dream of with our modern version of bread and circuses, such as actually making the poorest people the most likely to be obese. We are also the most passively entertained and the least used to strenuous labor outdoors in all weather of any people ever. Hard to imagine any prior civil upheaval happening with our current societal conditions.
