£500? Jeez, if he’s smart he’ll split it with her. From that gesture, he’ll be more than paid back.
If this is the only thing that is dividing western society, somehow I think we will be ok.
this is the reason I do not give lotto/lottery tickets as gifts....
Same reason I don't give coupons to the "Mustang Ranch" as gifts.

I had a friend who took his girlfriend on a date to a casino. His slot machine won him $15,000. Kn the drive home she said she didn’t know what she was going to do with her half of the money.

Sometimes it’s just a friend thing. A buddy and I take a road trip every year and we usually hit a casino on the way. If I lose and he wins he shares half of his winnings with me, and vice versa. It’s always just seemed like the right thing to do.

I agree with all you say - it’s amazing how selfish and ungrateful people can be. If I was in his shoes, my first reaction to winning would have been to offer her half. If I was in her shoes, it never would have entered my mind that I deserved half because I bought the ticket as a gift for him.
Guess he threw her out of the car at the local zoo and she landed in apeshit. Good aim!! Good riddance!
An inexpensive lottery ticket as a gift gives some insight to the gift giver’s character.
