A haunting tune that I have enjoyed since it’s release.
Sad, I loved Gerry and the Pacemakers back in the ‘60s when they were part of the British Invasion.
Sad news. Throw back songs to a different era.
We don’t care what your name is boy...
Don’t let the sun catch you cryin’.
One of the greatest of all the great stuff from "The British Invasion".
Don’t let the sun catch you crying
Recorded the greatest version of the greatest Rodgers and Hammerstein song ever written: https://youtu.be/OV5_LQArLa0
I love this song. Yes, I am old enough to remember it.
He did the version of You’ll Never Walk Alone that Liverpool FC adopted as their theme song. One of the most things in all of sports is hearing the crowd at Anfield sing it before every match.
One of my favorite songs of all times
And another one from my younger “daze” has left us. I remember playing their 45’s ‘Ferry Cross The Mersey’, and ‘Don’t Let The Sun Catch You Crying’, when my brother bought back then. Hauntingly beautiful songs. The sound of the Mersey beat. Where did all the years go? We were all so young then, and thought we’d live forever. RIP Gerry.
I saw them in concert with Dusty Springfield in 64 in Perth, W. Australia.
