Alto was a casual friend. On Seger’s final tour just over a year ago, I spent time with him sharing a few drinks after the band’s show. Great guy & talent. RIP.

Everybody seems to be dying lately. We had the nice looking girl from Gilligan's Island die just the other day, a handful of musicians, that ballplayer whose name I can't remember, an Italian fashion designer whose name I can't spell, a movie actor, Paul Westphal, and now this.

When will the madness end?

Hopefully he has a son named Bari who can continue the tradition. Seriously, RIP. Bob is good folk and I’m sure his bandmate was too.

I was going to post a link to a ‘Turn the Page’ Seger performance (one of my favourite Seger songs) when I found this studio version where Alto himself sings the song. Very nice.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY2RrWmdeOI

WOW. R.I.P. Alto Reed. I think it was the 1st live music performance I ever saw indoors. Bob Seger...Birmingham, Michigan @ Birmingham Palladium...sometime n the ‘60s. I can still visualize the drummer and his drum setup for Heavy Music. Condolences to family and friends. Thanks Alto Reed. love.

Half of The Beatles are dead, as well as 2/3 of the Bee Gees and all of the original Ramones.

But Keith Richards ages like a fine wine.
