Struggling To Lose Weight Through Cycling? This Could Be Why
Who’s doing E-BIKES? I’ve kit converted a couple and I love em. Way,way better than your 1950’s conventional bike. If you bike for fitness it’s awesome since the enemy of that is usually boredom and with an e-bike you can go out much further (see more or different scenery), not worrying about being too “pooped” to make it back, just hit the gas and cruise home. Or easier to do high intensity bike workouts in less time. Pump, pump, pump and then hit the gas during the rest cycle so you’re covering the same distance in less time.
I am still waiting for my old bikes to be worth lots of money..

Riding 48 miles of gravel and road tomorrow starting at Texas Motor Speedway. 60 degrees and light winds!
My wife told me she wanted to buy me a new road bike for Christmas. I went to five bike shops here in Southern California and there isnβt a single bike available. On the positive side, I assume there will be a glut of lightly used bikes for sale once this covid madness subsides.
Well, the annual mileage-meter is reset to z-e-r-o, so starting toward a new goal with today’s ride. I just finished my biggest year with 6,034 total miles. Hoping to get 45-50 in today, but currently in the soup (dense fog) here in Charlotte, NC.
Hoping all my fellow cycling enthusiasts have a safe, healthy, & prosperous year of peddling!

Santa provided cycling boots for my road bike (Trek Domane I picked up right when Idaho was shutting down, due to only 12 left in my size/color in the US) with a couple of long sleeve thermal riding shirts. It’s been too cold (with wind chill in the teens) to ride road or gravel bike (Trek Checkpoint with Lauf fork upgrade) so I have been riding on Zwift with a TACX Flux S trainer using my 20 yr old Lightspeed Tuscany. I have been able to average about 150 miles a week thanks to investment in the trainer.
Might be able to go out today as is currently 32 this morning (unusually warm for am in our area) with a high of 43 forecast. I always feel better when weather allows me to ride outside, plus it will allow me to OPS check my new gear.
Turning 70 in a couple of weeks. Ordered a new saddle for my old sit bones: a Selle Anatomica. I hope it helps. I’m down to 10 miles a day, weather permitting, and would like to keep to this course.
I need to buy a 14mm hex key to put my Campagnolo Centaur triple crank on the SOMA San MArcos. The Sam Hillborne is geared too low for Houston.
