Who’s doing E-BIKES? I’ve kit converted a couple and I love em. Way,way better than your 1950’s conventional bike. If you bike for fitness it’s awesome since the enemy of that is usually boredom and with an e-bike you can go out much further (see more or different scenery), not worrying about being too “pooped” to make it back, just hit the gas and cruise home. Or easier to do high intensity bike workouts in less time. Pump, pump, pump and then hit the gas during the rest cycle so you’re covering the same distance in less time.
Big, have to admit I’ve been looking at ebikes for a while for all the reasons you mentioned. So far haven’t ridden one. I worry that they are so heavy that the feel is lost. A light responsive road bike is a joy to ride. I have ordered a more rugged style for some dirt trail exploring. Seems like the perfect application. We’ll see, the wait is long but everything has snow right now.
Concur on E-bikes. I have an E-trike (Sun Traditional). Bought it because I have bad knees/hips and can only pedal for limited time. With the “e-feature”, I can “pedal ‘til things hurt” and then “throttle ‘til things no longer hurt”...then rinse and repeat. Lovin’ it. ‘Tis the only way that biking is even possible.
Exactly! Bought this e-bike for $899.

That was 6 months ago and now have 600 miles and still loving it. Fun to go that extra 5mph and have that extra assist on starts and uphills. Makes riding even more fun.
These are to pricey for me but if you have the cash you probably will not find a better ebike.
Yes, that Lemond!
