There’s some good news (less bad, at least) hidden in the graphs. Compare the “Daily Cases” and “Daily Deaths” graphs — you will notice that far fewer cases result in deaths now, compared to last April. That’s something to hang on to, at least.
Less people working = less people dying in vehicle crashes commuting to work = less China Virus deaths.
Wonder how many of those 232,898 ‘new’ cases are false positives?
Reporting aggregate recoveries is simply reporting on people who have gone back to status quo ante. By definition, that is not news, and therefore not reported.
None of us believes that the following items are news: “3,000 airplanes landed safely in DFW airport” or “zero earthquakes happened today.”

Doctors are not prevented from prescribing Hydroxycloroquine. However, the research has not proven its effectiveness. And ppeople’s faith in it does not increase by the fact that it was promoted by a graduate of a foreign med school who believes in evil spirits taking human form to capture sperm.
And ... the number of recovered patients is about as newsworthy as the number of ships that did not sink.
Also, when the occasional ship does sink, they don't prevent ships from getting in the water for months and years on end. And why is that? Because as you so wisely point out 99.9999999% of ships don't sink.

If the number of ships sinking goes up 8-fold, and it is shown that more cruises EXPONENTIALLY increases sinking ships, it’s smart to cut back on the luxury cruise outings.

The interesting thing is that according to the CDC, the total death rate as a percentage of the population has not increased in 2020 vs the last decade.....so it seems we are being fooled by data manipulation.
