surprising amount of info worth noting at this Twitter page - both in tweets & re-tweets:

Twitter; Allison Pearson, Telegraph columnist (UK)

NicholasB
From tomorrows (Daily) Mail:
“we have been through a pandemic which has closed down large parts of the economy and led to us being locked down in our homes for weeks on end – and yet, after all that, it has really just returned us to the mortality rate of 12 years ago”

Toby Young, Gen Sec Free Speech Union, editor of Lockdown Sceptics
“There have been many shocking sights this year. For me, one of the most shocking has been the sight of comfortably off, Oxbridge-educated experts and journalists agitating for the closure of schools even though they know this will hit poor kids hardest.”
LINK Spectator

UsforThemUK
“My hospital has seen no cases of schoolchildren directly ill with serious Covid-19 infections – but it has seen a significant number of potentially life-threatening conditions in young people, caused by the secondary effects of lockdown.”
LINK Daily Mail

Allison Pearson
The number of hospital patients on mechanical ventilation is half what it was in April.
ICU occupancy is 78% today. Remarkably low for this time of year.

People actually refusing to believe the data which is filed every single day by every single hospital to the central NHS dashboard.
It’s not open to dispute. But, hey,
If you don’t like these facts we have others...

National hospital bed occupancy is currently 85%. A figure that has been pretty stable for three months.
By contrast, bed occupancy for this quarter last year was 92%.
In fact, winter 2020 is the lowest hospital bed occupancy for 10 years.
Yes, really.

Dr. Clare Craig
London has now carried out 107,859 lateral flow tests (as used by the Army in Liverpool). There have been 42,000 in the last week.
These tests are far more accurate than PCR.
Why have we heard nothing about the results?

lots of data:

28 Dec: Lockdown Sceptics: ICU Occupancy in English Hospitals No Higher Than Last December
by Toby Young
Sounds like a major crisis, right? Better move the rest of England into Tier 4, make mask-wearing mandatory in all settings and close schools until Easter.

Or is it?

If you look at ICU occupancy in NHS hospitals across England on December 20th it was lower than the December average in 2019 in most of the country – and it’s worth remembering that the 2019-20 flu season was unusually mild...

Tweet: Nigel Farage
If this is the case, then why do the NHS Nightingale Hospitals stand completely empty?

Nigel was replying to Sky (COMCAST) News Breaking tweet:
Figures released by NHS England show there are now more COVID-19 patients in NHS hospitals in England than there were during the April peak of the first wave
29 Dec 2020

reply to Nigel:
sky_trees: Nigel, you’ve got to get back in the game ASAP. People like me have no voice; both mainstream parties are in thrall to lockdown. You’ve got to help change the course as a matter of urgency, just like you did with Brexit...

following is full of covid porn, but at least it’s exposing the Nightingale scandal:

30 Dec: Daily Mail: Only 28 Covid patients are currently being treated in No10’s £220million Nightingale hospitals while top doctor begs ministers to use ALL of the mothballed facilities - as make-shift units get dismantled ‘because there aren’t enough staff to run them’
Three Nightingales - Bristol, Manchester and Harrogate - never received a Covid-19 patient, figures reveal
A Covid adviser has called on the NHS to use the mothballed facilities to treat spiralling numbers of patients
London’s Nightingale hospital has been stripped of most of its 4,000 beds, ventilators and even signs
£220million was splashed on seven Nightingales which were hailed as a solution for overwhelmed hospitals
But only one started treating Covid-19 patients, with three still standing empty during the second wave
Comes as virus hospitalisations in England surged past the levels seen during the first wave of the pandemic
By LUKE ANDREWS
NHS hospitals are said to be bursting at the seams with more than 20,000 Covid patients that they are desperately trying to cram into socially-distanced wards, but the seven £220million Nightingales stand empty despite having a combined capacity of more than 10,000 beds between them...

Just 249 Covid patients have been admitted to the Nightingales over the eight months since April, official figures reveal — the equivalent of roughly £883,000 to the public purse each...

Of course case #'s go up, as testing does. It it the death rates that matter most.

daily-tests-per-thousand-people-smoothed-7-day

positive-rate-daily-smoothed

coronavirus-data-explorer

As of yesterday, 12-27, there were 343,182 Covid-assigned deaths in the US out of a total pop. of 332 million which figures to be an 0.1 overall fatality rate (Covid-assigned deaths as a % of the total pop.). And with 1,773,727 Covid-assigned deaths worldwide (12–28–20) out of a total world population of 7,800,000,000 people as of March 2020, then the overall worldwide Covid-19 crude morality rate (CMR) is 0.02.

As for the IFR (Covid-assigned deaths as a % of the estimated total infections, vs. confirmed infections) in US, the CDC (Dec. 11) provides a figure of 91 Million Estimated Total Infections (Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) at which time there were about 300,000 Covid-assigned deaths (figures are rounded), which would figure to be a IFR or 0.33.
