California was placed under a new set of strict lockdowns earlier this month, courtesy of Gov. Gavin Newsom. Californians have since decided to look at Newsom as a role model and have largely ignored the latest order.
According to mobility trend data collected from cellphones by Google, California residents have returned to the level of outside-the-home activities seen in November, before Newsom’s latest lockdown order. After an initial dip, visits to grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, retail stores, and workplaces have rebounded to November levels.

And then, of course, there is Newsom himself. In November, California residents watched as their governor mocked them, attending the indoor birthday dinner of a lobbyist friend and then smugly smiling as he “apologized” for clearly disregarding his own lockdown orders. It’s no surprise that Californians have since decided to treat Newsom’s latest order the way Newsom has treated them.
The inconsistent lockdown rules and Newsom’s view that they shouldn’t apply to him combined with the holiday season make the stance of Californians clear. Newsom’s order to prohibit “private gatherings of any size” was never going to play well before Christmas, but Newsom’s own behavior has given residents the green light to ignore the other restrictions he imposed.

if it were in people’s best interest to lockdown, they would do it. but it’s pretty obvious now that the virus is going to ‘virus,’ lockdown or no. life must go on with precautions. the situation in Cali is complicated by demographic predispositions, illegal immigration, aggie workers etc. - and lack of disclosure, bad figures. no matter what the health people and guv’s office do the same old things - to no avail. then they blame us.
Is this surprising? They can’t even crap in a toilet.
Evidence suggests the lockdowns and the masks do nothing to stop this virus. When will americans stop peeing their collective panties and take back their freedom and country?
now me, personally, I'll probably continue wearing a mask but I sure would like to go out for a nice juicy fat steak sometime....

It seems pretty clear at this point that the masks make no difference as to whether you will contract the China virus or not. New paragraph I’m curious seeing these stories all over do you disbelieve them?

From an undisclosed California lockdown location: Went to a barbershop that has refused to shut down once again. The shop is operating discreetly in a small shopping area — mesh sunshade in the front window pulled down, lighting inside reduced, no music or loud noises. The shop has had to increase prices, lengthen time between appointments, and do only haircuts (no shaves or beard trims), yet their schedule is full. I asked my barber if the police have been a problem, to which he replied they come to the shop for *their* haircuts! He said the bad guys are the state licensing board and the county health department.

That is absolutely ridiculous.
I actually prefer to fire up the grill with family and do ourselves a nice cookout.
It’s better quality cooking and you know what’s in the food and how clean the kitchen and kitchen crew are.
The only time I wear a mask is when entering some stores that ‘require it’ - then, I take it off and put it in my pocket and wait for someone to mention it - so far, nobody cares...Mississippians like to live FRee.
We dine out at least once a week and while the staff wears masks, most don’t bother wearing them until the get to their tables because common sense says that if you’re gonna take it off for an extended period, the quick trip to the table won’t make a difference.
More an more folks down here are eschewing the masks and not taking any guff over it - I envision the day when it’s the ones with masks that stand out as being different...because it seems that many are wearing them to keep from standing out and having folks think ill of them, rather than because they fear the virus.
In a certain unnamed city in my area many bars and restaurants are open and seating customers, gyms are packed with people exercising, and barbershops are wide open. No need to sneak through the backdoor. The bigger chain business all follow Gruesome’s arbitrary mandates but smaller owners desperate to survive are saluting the guv with a single finger.
