[You’ve lost the plot my friend. Wall Street hates Trump with a white hot passion. Ask yourself why that is.]

Lots of people in important sectors of the economy hate him. Fashion, movies, TV, Silly Valley, et al hate him. Would we better better off without these sectors? No. But all of these sectors are trivial relative to finance. Without loans and banks to act as gatekeepers for these loans, the economy collapses. That’s why the banks were bailed out. Shareholders and bondholders like me weren’t bailed out - the bank’s individual borrowers were.

You have a point about money blown in the Mid-East, and I fully expect that we’ll be dumping money in Syria by summer, because Assad is bad or something.

“ I fully expect that we’ll be dumping money in Syria by summer, because Assad is bad or something.”

And none of our GOP fiscal conservatives will complain. In fact, last year most of them - including McConnell in the Senate and McCarthy in the House - voted for a resolution that condemned Trump for trying to pull troops from Syria

“Fiscal conservatism” just means that federal money can’t be spent for Americans in America. Spending it anywhere else - and especially in the Middle East - is not just fine, it’s REQUIRED

Trump is the only President in recent history that has not started a new war or conflict. Think the previous time was Reagan.

Wars, conflicts are fine to many Freepers. Don’t worry the Republican Congress can all join with Hiden/Ho and they get their wish. Who’s first? Syria again? Yemen? Libya? Back to Afghanistan and Iraq in a big way?

Trillions for overseas wars and conflicts and aid. Jack Shiite for the American citizen and taxpayer.

“This money will go back into the economy and that means retail sales and that means workers...etc etc.”

If you want to grow the economy you need to increase the supply of goods and services not the demand for them. If the economy produces a pound of bacon dumping more fiat currency into it only increases the cost of your pound of bacon and nobody actually eats any better. On the other hand if you produce two pounds of bacon the very process of producing the bacon increases demand because someone had to raise the pig and butcher it and package it and the people who did that will then have the means to buy the bacon.

While I will welcome my $2K check I am under no illusion that it will in any meaningful way boost the overall economy.

. Many of the anti-abortion people are probably also proponents of this check. They couldn’t care less about other incidental issues

Free ! Free! Free just means let the kids pay for it
Where’s the commercial or video showing a toddler happily playing suddenly being demanded to pay its thousands of dollars share of the national debt ? When the toddler breaks into screaming” HOW COULD THEY DO THIS TO ME ???” in tears ? posted this in my website
http://www.theusmat.com/index.htm

If this fraudulent election wasn’t going on Trump should vetoed this. NOW I HOPE HE EXPLAINS AND BLAMES THAT SHAKEDOWN FORCING ITS PASSAGE.

That democrat controlled house 5000 or more page budget blaster hasn’t been examined but I bet there is Bailouts for sanctuary states and cities along with a mountain of other appropriations going for give-a-way projects where Swamp family members wind up being “bag men” for those that voted for this.

These politicians were bringing this bill to a vote whether Trump got involved with it or not.

The pork was going to be gone for in record quantities whether Trump fought for us over it... or not.

At least playing out the game this way the people get to write the bulk of the check against themselves AND get the short term benefit. Yes, the bill always comes due. This will be inflationary. But the original bill just had all the money going out the door to the benefit of every one and every thing around the world EXCEPT the US taxpayers.

It was going to suck or suck less. This is the “less.”

Know what would have happened if Trump would have just vetoed it outright? They’d override... like they just did with the NDAA AND we’d still have the original bill.

It wasn’t a criticism. There are pure anti-abortion people to the exclusion of all else. You’re obviously not one of them. Again, all coalitions, the Trump coalition included, are coalitions of interests. That doesn’t mean that their interests don’t diverge on key points. The $2,000 check is one of those cleavages.

Is a Trump dictatorship preferable to a Democratic dictatorship in all but name? That would depend on how much you like Trump and how much you hate the Democrat dictator about to take office. Marius vs Sulla and the Spanish Republicans vs the Spanish Nationalists were choices between dictators. These choices came about because one side (and opinions will differ as to which side) crossed a line beyond which the two rival coalitions could not co-exist in government.

Those stores are notorious sellers of chinese crap.

Chinese suppliers make up 70-80 percent of Walmart’s merchandise, leaving less than 20 percent for American-made products.
