Ahhh, what the heck. Why not make it $1,000,000 each?
Remember, Trump asked for this to be done in his signing statement on the Covid bill yesterday.
I’m with him on that. A lot of people are hurting and $600 wouldn’t even cover Mitch McConnell’s annual dry cleaning bills for his evening suits.
Should be a gazillion
Whatta bout the starve The Pig vote?
“Why not make it $1,000,000 each?”
Trump supports $2000. You oppose it - and him?
“ Whatta bout the starve The Pig vote?”
That’s separate. Under the Impoundment act that Trump inviked, it must come within 45 days
This money will go back into the economy and that means retail sales and that means workers...etc etc.
Normally a two thirds vote would be 290 votes. It appears that 20 or so republicans did not vote. I got that from the video of the vote.
Don't get me wrong, I am a hypocrite. I won't send my money back. But I do think that we are turning a dangerous corner here.
If the $700 billion in wasteful pork stays, it’s a failure.
I wanted Trump to shut down the government. That freaks the Deep State out even though 80% is considered “essential “ and the 20% get backpay.
Screw the government.
BRAVO FOXTROT DELTA.
And how much PORK is stuffed in this one ???
So they got 1/2 way there now it’s up to the Senaturds...
Get it right boys and girls.
I mostly don’t care about payments to individuals and businesses since it is just returning stolen money (taxes). I wish that it could be limited to people who actually paid taxes. And I got a 300k in PPP forgivable loan for my business— a small fraction of the millions paid in corporate income tax.
Why did it need 2/3 majority to pass?
it’s not a stand alone?
So many bailouts for banks over the past 15 years. (followed by bonuses for top executives). But somehow it’s outrageous to bail out average people
I get nothing but another day at work so everyone like you can get a check.
LOL
Not blaming you for taking it either...
How much goes back into the US economy if you use it to buy something made in China and sold on Amazon? 5%? 10%
It does go back into the economy, but not necessarily the right one.
