Fantasy art requires skill and perspective. It's too difficult. It's easier to daub and slop paint around. Then get some shyster art gallery owner and some crooked art critics to extoll the virtues of crap. Make millions selling shyt like this to suckers:

That POS went for something like $30,000,000.

Back in the day I loved Heavy Metal magazines.
That was the number 1 magazine to see the best fantasy art.

Michelangelo had the dome of the Sistine Chapel. Rembrandt had oak panels. The modern masters have the side of a 1974 Ford Econoline.

Some very impressive work is shown.
Of course in that genre, Frank Frazetta was the king of When Weaponized Chimera met with softly modulated, accurately muscled, light porn formats.

Modern art is a matter of taste, some acquired, some innate.

I really like modern art but I understand when other folks don't get it.

People high in what Jordan Peterson calls "trait openness" tend to like modern art. Folks low in "trait openness" don't.

My favorite of Frazetta’s, Egyptian Queen. That column is so well painted.

Do you want me to bring out the LeRoy Neiman paintings?

No! We cannot risk violating the Geneva Convention!
