Regional stay-at-home orders in effect in Southern California and the San Joaquin Valley were slated to expire this week, but Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Monday the orders are all-but-certain be extended into the new year.
Newsom stated that new four-week ICU projections for the two regions will be made available Tuesday, and a new earliest possible end date will be revealed at that time. A region must go under a stay-at-home order if ICU capacity falls below 15%.
The other two regions under stay-at-home orders — the Bay Area and the Greater Sacramento region — are not slated to see their orders expire until January. Newsom stated that officials will re-evaluate those two regions once the orders expire.

Yeah, I heard on the news over the weekend that their ICU beds are 100% occupied. They are even considering having people postpone elective surgery in the coming weeks, to make more beds available for Covid patients. WTF?

Decades ago, when we had something closer to real Reporters on the job, one may have expected 60 Minutes to interview Gov. Newsom. One of the first questions from the reporter would have been: “Governor, what is your End Game Plan for home lockdowns? Deep down, do you expect that you’ll be extending them forever?
