@ChadPergram

Schumer on if $2,000 stimulus checks can get through the Senate: It's up to the Senate. Every Senate Democrat is for it but unfortunately we don't have Republicans on board...I will be on the Senate floor tomorrow urging that to happen

i’m guessing that all these billions to foreign countries will somehow find a large portion of which ends up in the retirement accounts of some of these “generous” unzenophobic elected representatives that are so concerned about the welfare of those “”relations” so far from home.

The bill passed 93-7 in the Senate so a lot of Republican WERE on board with sending billions to other countries. But they are not on board with helping Americans hurting from these Convid shutdowns. The GOP is dead and the MAGA party will replace it.

It’s all print and spend anyways!

I'm amazed that the dollar has not collapsed. This spending bill might just to the trick and convince the Saudi's to sell oil in something other then dollars. Then it's good night lights out for the USA.

If the GOP wins in GA their takeaway will be ‘we win without Trump’. If they lose in GA their takeaway will be ‘we lost because of Trump’. Either way they will justify their goal to purge Trump and his supporters from the party. Go for it, worthless SOBs. I’m already gone, hopefully Trump will give me a new place to call home but I’ll never ever vote for a scumbag like Mitt Romney or John McCain again, period.

I am not a welfare whore! In fact, I probanly won’t qualify for a stimulus 2 check. But I would rather the money go to Americans than Pakistan and Venezuela!!!

Except Trump signed the bill, and it is going to Pakistan and Venezuela. This new bill is on top of the money going to Pakistan and Venezuela. That's a $500b slug of cash on top of previous slugs of cash. Who's to say this won't be an annual ritual? That's what the GOP is trying to stop. An annual $500b deficit on top of the annual $1T deficits we already run. For fiscal year 2020, which ended in September 2020, the deficit number was $3T. That's $3T added on to the federal deficit in one year, over 2x what was tacked on ($1.4T) during the Great Financial Crisis of 2008.

AFAIK, it was part of the standard annual appropriation for foreign aid. While it would have been nice to zero that out, the way these budget bills work is all the compromises get worked out into a single bill so they don’t have to go through these messy and time-consuming debates one at a time, thereby derailing anything not budget-related for the rest of the year. And by compromises, I mean the GOP lowers the amounts the Democrats want, and the Democrats get non-zero numbers for some of their pet causes.

They only need 3 republicans and you have to think the 2 GA senators will vote for it. Think Romney would miss a chance to side with the Dems? Mitch can’t straight face ask the GA senators to vote themselves out of office by voting no.

Color me crazy, but I’d be willing to bet that fewer still would be interested in sending millions to Pakistan for “gender programs”.

I read it needs 60 votes to pass the Senate. Now sure why 60.

900,000,000,000 bill / 143,000,000 taxpayers = $6,293 per taxpayer.

6,293 - 2,000 refund = $4,293

We’re still getting fleeced for $4,293 but nobody seems to point that out.
