I thought maybe some may enjoy this. It's very good and boy those days were so glamorous. More than the Marmont, some of the Sunset Strip, the old stars, the mob, you know...good times ;)
Just for fun.

I grew up in Los Angeles (the far west side, about a mile from the beach), and I remember the Chateau Marmont, and the Beverly Hills Hotel just down the road to the west. The Marmont is at the curve as Sunset turns east and starts the Sunset Strip. We used to go there in the 1960s.

California is too scenic and too rich in natural resources to give up to the Forces of Darkness without a fight.

Last I heard, Chateau Marmont has planned to turn into a private club. It has been a public hotel and eating establishment my whole life.

Transferred to LA from Denver back in the mid-1970’s. I was a sales executive in the trucking industry and headed up one of our largest sales forces in the U.S.. In the colder months, typically November thru March we had a lot of visitors, both from corporate, and favored customers from around the country who we were expected to entertain. It was a real burden on the LA sales force entertaining customers three or four nights a week. It was like give me a break boss, I entertained customers at Chasen’s, or the Brown Derby last week, someone else’s turn. Had to agree because I did more than my fair share and was sick of what most would be considered a opulent expense account life style.

Several. It was not uncommon.

Where entertainers go to die.

The drive out Sunset to the beach through Beverly Hills is quite underrated... I’ve done that almost every time I’ve been in LA

John Belushi died there, as well as Juice Newton’s father (Helmut). Then you had William Holden dying there with his drinking helmet. There were other oddities.

I looked into going there couple of years ago. 400 for a small room not in a good area of hotel. Not the ‘experience’ I was hoping for but still considering for future. Doggone them if the do that..

Yes! I did not watch it all when I put it up thinking it was going to take a different turn. Gee, how these people are so proud of their immorality!
