Pies are my hobby, all deep dish. By preference:
Pumpkin (Libby’s recipe)
Apple (Rome apples)
Coconut Custard
Peach (lattice top)
Lemon meringue
Blueberry (must have ice cream)
French Apple
Garlic Pie (must have proper dis and elephant garlic - not at all like whay you would imagine)
And chocolate pie is not at the top of that list?

I have a chocolate pie recipe that will curl your eyebrows...I usually make it dark chocolate too. Some [real] whipped cream and it’s about 2 1/2 inches from heaven.
Just for kicks I made an apple pie from scratch this fall. getting the crust right was the hardest part. Everything else is easy peasy. With a lattice top, it looked just like store bought.
