Just listening to the surgeon general. He wants to especially the thank POC researchers. POC scientists. POC test subjects.

No matter who you are, thrice-over medical doctor and Ph.D, etc., there could be genetic coding in the vaccine about which you have no idea regarding its singular or cumulative effects in a human body.
The Surgeon General disqualifies himself (or has the author misrepresented or taken out of context?) with the above implication.
That just screams, “Because we know what slackers and incapable idiots minorities are, so it is good to see them finally contribute to society for once.”
Doesn’t the vaccine have 100% fainting rate of televised nurses?
People of color are petrified of the vaccine due to the Tuskegee incident. Knowing people of color worked to develop the vaccine may help with its distribution.

In any case, if that’s what it takes to be excused from taking the vaccination, I now identify as a Tuskegee incident survivor, extremely dark skinned person of color.
I’m going to be a bit of a contrarian here. I think the reason behind all of this thanking the “POC” this and that is to convince the “POC” population to take the vaccine. Several “leaders” of “POC” types (and everyone knows which C of the POCs he’s referring to) are telling their followers not to trust the shot because white people are not to be trusted and really want them all dead.
Assuming the vaccine works and that the Wuhan is as deadly as advertised (and I realize many have their doubts) having a large percentage of the population not take the vaccine means we don’t get Wuhan under any kind of control. It will infect a population that isn’t really good at social distancing or self discipline. And that will give the virus a chance to mutate into more interesting varieties.
I think the Surgeon General is trying, in a ham-fisted way, to get black people to take the shot. I doubt if he’ll be successful.

No, it wasn’t. 88 years ago. Started in 1932. The “experiment” lasted 40 years which takes it up to 1972. Black people have not forgotten.
That IS why they are nervous. That is most likely why the Surgeon General mentioned that people if color worked on the vaccine. Nothing to do with racism except for the memory of the horrid, racist experiment.

Stating POC helped develop the vaccine is such a stupid and ineffective argument to try to ease any concerns. Are POC’s incapable of harming other POC’s

Seriously? They are pushing “people of color” because “people of color” are much less likely to take the vaccine because many believe stuff like that is created in CIA labs to murder blacks...oops! I mean “people of color”.

I wouldn’t trust Jerome Adams to take my garbage to the curb.
He would be spending too much time trying to make sure the black packages were at the top of the pile.
Get used to it, gang. EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING for the next 4 years is going to be talked about through the prism of skin color and sexual “identity”.
Yet, these are the same people who have been screaming for “equal” treatment (even though, for the most part, they already receive totally equal treatment since virtually no-one treats any of them UNequally in the year 2020).
IMHO, this is purely an “identity politics” play. If the Dems can convince people “of color” or non-traditional sexual “identity” that they are “disadvantaged” (they’re largely not, but let’s go with that) somehow, they can keep them voting Dem. They can also continue the strategy of trying to pit Americans against each other instead of promoting unity, which has worked really well for the Dems for decades now.
It’s SO FREAKING OBVIOUS. But gullible people seem to continue falling for it.
