PHILADELPHIA -- Slice pizza shop in Philadelphia is putting a spin on the traditional 7 Fishes feast.

And they are turning it into their latest pizza creation.

South Philly welcomes Curiosity Doughnut popup

The pizza has tuna, crab meat, anchovies, sardines, clams, shrimp, and mussels.

While the 7 Fishes tradition takes place on Christmas Eve, the shop is offering this unique pizza all through December.

I like the little fishes, even fried smelts, with a dash of tabasco.

Sardines may have their place, as does canned tuna, but it is not on that pizza.

The only really good pizza I ever had in the deep south was Deano's Pizza in Lafayette, LA. They have a house specialty called the "Cajun Executioner," that has shrimp among its toppings, and they add a nice taste and texture in combination with the rest of the toppings.

My tastes in pizza usually run a little more traditional, and if I'm ordering just for me, I'll keep it at pepperoni, mushrooms, black olives and anchovies.

Pizza can have anchovies. If it has octopus, shark, whale, jellyfish, or anything else, I question it’s pizza-ness.

Hard to even find anchovie anymore, but that damn pineapple is ubiquitous!

I think I ate (or attempted to) that pizza in a Shakeys in Tokyo.

Pineapple and ham are marginally acceptable. If somebody else orders it and it's all that's available, I'll eat it.

The big downside with pineapple on a pizza, is that once it gets cold, it tastes horrible, and can't be succesfully reheated without becoming unpalatable.

We moved here in ‘83, and a co-worker, in 1985, ordered a pie from a joint that became a favorite. A medium weighs 10 pounds, and was, and still is, the best in town! Pricey, but YUM! Tons of cheese and toppings, ooh! The owner sold it, and I ordered one with trepidation, and it was as good as the original, even though Chip didn’t sell the sauce recipe. Damn good pizza! :)
