Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., a staunch deficit hawk, argues the best way to stimulate the economy is to “reopen” it.
In an interview on Wednesday with Sinclair Broadcasting's “America This Week,” Paul said more economic stimulus isn’t the answer to the economic fallout from the coronavirus crisis.
“It’s a mistake to think that government is what should stimulate the economy… the economy should be left alone,” he said.
“The only way to get a long lasting stimulus… is to reopen the economy,” he declared.
"We borrowed about $3 trillion in the spring and our debt is now over $27 trillion. So I don't think borrowing more money is the answer,” he said.
He also defended his believe there are advantages to herd immunity to the virus.
“Those who have had the disease naturally… they have the same immunity is if they had the vaccine… natural immunity,” he said, adding: “We should acknowledge some advantages… we shouldn’t discount immunity in the discussion.”

Seems like they could find a few people to clean the place up.
The problem with the herd immunity idea is that 80-90% of the population must have had the disease before herd immunity kicks in. Only 5% of the US population has had it so far, and in many places the ICUs are already at capacity. Our hospitals will be overwhelmed long before we get to herd immunity. So why push this now when President Trump says a vaccine is ready?
I’m young, I’m healthy, and I’m opting out of this herd immunity experiment the business elites and their buddies in Congress seem so intent on pushing on the American people.

Psycho-Marxist Democrats will never go for that. Look at the psycho-Marxist governor of Pennsylvania who locked down the whole state until Jan. 4. Why January 4? My guess is because it will give all the Democrats there enough time to prepare for their mask-less street parties to celebrate what Democrats assume will be VP Pence officially announcing Sleepy Joe as President-Elect and Kamala as Vice President-Elect when Mike Pence reads the electoral votes on Jan. 6 in Congress.
So is Rand okay now? It’s hard to keep track on the FR. One day he’s the devil. The next he’s a hero.

Tell it to my governor (Wolf). He doesn’t listen to ordinary Pennsylvanians in general, or Republican Pennsylvanians in particular. He doesn’t have to. The PA Supreme Court has his back in an endless string of 5-2 decisions.

I'm 77, bp 118/65 wt 116, 5'4" and the first and only flu I had was in 1970. Haven't had a gone since I was a kid. I take Vit C when I get a sniffle....and voila...nothing comes of it.
And I won't take the vaccine BECAUSE I've never been sick.
