And there is opposition to these present vaccines growing, and will reduce the number of willing passengers. -Tom
It’s going to be required to enter a movie, a concert,
soon a shopping mall, a market. Maybe even they will try to enforce it for entering a house of worship.
Maybe that’s what this faux pandemic has been all about from the start: control.
There’s lots of speculation about needing “papers please” to do a lot of things. All to bring about control of people.
I have no problem with these companies imposing even the most ludicrous requirements for their customers. Anyone who values a stupid cruise more than their own liberty can’t disappear fast enough for me.
You may have a point there, since Economics and jobs and businesses ,and peoples freedoms doesn't seem to be a factor in worrying about a flu virus that is not that fatal. -Tom
Capt. Tom wrote: “IMHO requiring a covid vaccine before boarding a cruise ship would cause months more in delays for the Cruise Lines to make an economic comeback, and they can’t afford that, without doing some reorganizing. (bankruptcies)”
Requiring a covid vaccination is little different than requiring any other vaccination as is required for many destination.
There are many of us who will not cruise if masks, social distancing, etc., are prerequisites. Vaccination appears to be the only alternative to those protocols.
Could a Vaccine Be Required Before Taking a Cruise?>>>>>
Yep.
I was made to take a Yellow Fever as well as a Diphtheria vaccination before they would take me to Ethiopia.
So the legal requirement is no problem.
It may be ill advised economically. Why not just quarantine for 14 days upon return?
I suspect a lot of these companies are really just looking for ways to cover their own asses and protect themselves from lawsuits in the event of an outbreak on one of their ships.
Before you can start where I am working, you have to have a negative Covid test. This is a new policy.
I don't care about Cruise restrictions.
Flight restrictions are a different story.
There are a variety of problems with a blanket requirement:
- There is no proof how long the vaccine works.
- Children don't need it.
- The vaccine is contraindicated for many.
I worry about employers requiring the vaccination in order to retain your job.
Tell the boss you’re a Muslim and can’t take the shot until after Rama-lama-ding-dong.

What would Popeye do?
Eventually, if you have a smart phone number, that’s where the Hall Pass will be required (even if you don’t carry the phone). That might get pretty hard to fake. Going Galt looks more and more attractive.
“What would Popeye do?”
Popeye would by his on cruising yacht. I am buying a 30 foot sailing yacht. Only need one big enough for me and my wife.
I don’t need no stinking vaccine.
It’s not difficult to see where this is going. Virus fear equals further government controls. It’s strange to see conservatives surprised at each step along the way.
Testing accuracy? And, test negative now and five minutes later you’re positive.
I’m self-employer, and I’ve had a banner year in 2020 partly because I REFUSED to agree to the COVID protocols of my biggest client. When I explained to them why I couldn’t agree to those terms, they realized how much of a pain in the ass the whole thing is ... and they handed my company a major assignment that would have been too unwieldy for them to do themselves under their own stupid restrictions.
