This raises some troubling issues...
Who is to decide what is legitimate commerce? Porn is legal after all...
Hawley is demanding Visa do the same.

Sounds like Josh Hawley is going to have to get another bank card to pay for his habit.

Just curious - who pays for porn? I thought it is all free?

No different than denying credit card processing for firearms or ammunition. Next, political contributions to conservative groups and candidates. That should get his attention.

I assume they have a premium option which removes ads (similar to YouTube)

Is there gay porn on pornhub? If so MasterCard is about to learn that they are the worst company in the world and forced to apologize and promise to appoint gay people to ever top management position.

Who is to decide what is legitimate commerce? I could easily see a future Chuck Schumer tweet along the lines of "Mastercard has just informed me they are terminating use of their cards for NRA dues".

Did ‘mastercard,’ in a hindi accent, say all payments now had to be in walmart or google play gift cards?
To: posterchild
Should not be permitted, if it’s legal commerce credit card companies should have to process the transactions. This county become more of a joke everyday.
To: Sans-Culotte
Yeah.. I dont like him pressuring processors like this.. wait until the other side figure it out, as you say.

No different than denying credit card processing for firearms or ammunition. Next, political contributions to conservative groups and candidates. That should get his attention. I've heard from someone who knows:
Pornhub is the new haven for firearm-related victims of cancel culture. They can put up their gun videos there without fear of backlash. Particularly stuff related to 3D printing.
Maybe that's what this Mastercard stuff is about.
To: RandFan
I’m curios if this applies to homo and lesbo porn.
If so, are they ready for the lawsuits their going to be hit with?

I looked it up. Pornhub is number 7 on that list of the top websites visited in the US. I actually thought it was higher than that.
I suppose if they wanted to, Pornhub could just buy MasterCard and be done with it.

Hunter’s channel was demonitized shortly after this announcement.
To: RandFan
Mastercard and Visa already have this power and have been doing it for years, hence the deplatforming and freezing of financial assets of right wing dissidents for the past 4 years.
It's not what I want, since the pornography industry needs to be outlawed and the producers imprisoned for human trafficking, but it's nice collateral damage that has taken place.
