Number 5: not tuna. Sardines and Mackeral. Costco has both and often on sale. They are like miracle foods and because they have a short life and are low on the food chain, there is a LOT les mercury to worry about.
Canned tuna is good for two years.
Sardines w/ chiles without a doubt! Love ‘em on saltines.
Agreed completely. Tuna can accumulate more mercury.
Alton Brown, from the Good Eats TV show, said that Albacore Tuna was considered the Cadillac of tuna. But he suggested eating skipjack, instead. He said that Albacore is harvested after a 3 years while skipjack has a two year cycle. He suggested that skipjack will have less mercury, as a result.
Chickens on the hoof. Till they get old you also get eggs’
If you freeze flour for 30 days at 0F or below it will last for yrs. Freezing kills the bug eggs. Pour into a food grade plastic bucket and seal the lid. I have flour 15 yrs old that is still good.
Yeh, but I don’t like Sardines and Mackeral. I buy 12 cans each of tuna, salmon, clams and shrimp. And I have a month’s worth of fish in the freezer— That gives me the fish/seafood once a week for a year.
Clam Chowder, Shrimp bisque are favorites. Salmon or Tuna Salad or Casserole is just ok.
And, who is going to want to steal them from you?
Other than some feral cats, maybe.
