STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A tractor-trailer crash right on the edge of Stafford County and Prince William County is causing major delays on Interstate 95.
Drivers traveling northbound will be forced to reroute due to a closure of northbound lanes at mile marker 147.
Virginia State Police responded to the crash at 10:28 a.m. They say the tractor trailer ran off the left side of the road and hit a jersey wall. The back of end of the truck came to a stop across the travel lanes.
Stafford County Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene on 10:30 a.m. for a large vehicle fire. The fire was coming from the cab of a tractor trailer that had jackknifed across the northbound lanes on I-95. The fire was under control after about 15 minutes, the fire department also contained a diesel spill.
The tractor trailer had been transporting pigs. Some of the pigs were killed in the crash.
The driver had a minor injury and was helped on the scene.
As of 1:30 p.m. VDOT says the north center lane, right lane and right shoulder are closed. Drivers are rerouting to Route 1.
Traffic is backed up for about eight miles.
VDOT says they have adjusted timing on traffic signals to allow for heavier traffic along Route 1 northbound.

Not over the River, right at Quantico.
At first read, I thought pigs were pulling the trailer.

If that close to Quantico, it might have been an Hambush.
It only happens if the pigs fly. (and they might have.)
Luckily it didn’t happen in LA near the La Brea Tar Pits.

BBQ for everyone!
No one brought knives and aprons with that much meat lying around?
My grandpa hit a deer once with his car. While waiting for the State Police to show up, he started to butcher it. The officer asked him why, and he said (with a thick accent), "Dere eees lots of good meat left, no?"
Come on , what kinda truck, bet it was a Jimmy. And not even in the dark of the moon.
Damn, I’m 839 miles south of that, and just finished my second beer.
Maybe next time.

If I even said I understood that graphic, I’d be a liar.
