China's space agency releases images of national flag unfurled on moon

The China National Space Administration Friday released images showing China's national flag unfurled from the Chang'e-5 probe on the moon.

The images were taken by a panoramic camera installed on the lander-ascender combination of the probe, before the ascender blasted off from the moon with lunar samples late Thursday.

In one of the images, a robotic arm to collect lunar samples can be seen next to the flag.

China's Chang'e-5 probe was launched on November 24, and its lander-ascender combination touched down on the north of the Mons Rumker in Oceanus Procellarum, also known as the Ocean of Storms, on the near side of the moon on December 1.

After the samples were collected and sealed, the ascender of Chang'e-5 took off from the lunar surface late Thursday, and is expected to carry out unmanned rendezvous and docking with the orbiter-returner in lunar orbit, an unprecedented feat.

Chang'e-5 is one of the most complicated and challenging missions in Chinese aerospace history, as well as the world's first moon-sample mission in more than 40 years.

3 inch flag installed by a robot doesn’t count for much.

Well possession is 9/10th’s of the law. That and the United States apparently has no national will to explore the solar system beyond low earth orbit.

Now How do we know that flag was actually photographed while it was on the moons surface? For all we know it could have been photographed in a ChiCom movie studio.

First photo looks staged with a vertical wall behind he flag about 10 ft in back, with dirt laid on the stage floor. The discoloration strip doesn’t appear to continue through the flag, so either staged or photo-shopped.

Just doin’ what white people did over 50 years ago.

And at gunpoint.

And using slaves.

And while releasing worldwide disease.

What a country!

(America’s dead in Korea and Vietnam cry out.)

Since 1969 how many trillions have we poured into EBT, Section 8, WIC, SSI, welfare, and other giveaways so that lazy shiftless people can live comfortably and don't have to work?

Is Bill Clinton’s face on the back side????
When he ran for his second term, he sold a major portion of our missle technology to the Chicoms for cash to run his campaign.

There’s an American flag on the moon already.

There’s an American flag on the moon already.

We should charge them a landing fee.

Unprecedented? Seriously? Our lander safely touched down, with men aboard, then left the surface and successfully docked with atmospheric module.

Maybe unprecedented for China.

In other news, Bill Clinton was honored in Beijing as “Chief of Space Operations Research” for providing priceless (free) information key to keep rockets from tumbling after launch.
