Johns Hopkins University: “Surprisingly, the deaths of older people stayed the same before and after COVID-19. Since COVID-19 mainly affects the elderly, experts expected an increase in the percentage of deaths in older age groups. However, this increase is not seen from the CDC data. In fact, the percentages of deaths among all age groups remain relatively the same.”

Hmm.

Are you able to document a increase in mortality rates for elderly and overall population?

FR threads are that the mortality rate has not increased.

Or, are your threads propaganda?

About 6,500 people in the USA died today from something else.

Yup. I just had a patient die today. Not Covid. Lost one yesterday too. Also not covid.

It appears the public now thinks that, were it not for covid, they’d be immortal.

From your link...

"Two thirds of the excessive deaths during the analysis period (66.2%; 198,681) were attributed to COVID-19 and the remaining to other causes."

*Note that "Attribited" does not mean verified when determining Cause of Death.

Words do have meanings.

From your link that said to go to another link then said to go too another link said,
"Excess deaths over this period ranged from 224,173 to 299,028. The lower end of this range corresponds to the total number above the upper bound of the 95% prediction intervals, and the upper end of the range corresponds to the total number above the average expected counts. Deaths above the upper bound threshold are significantly higher than expected"

From the last link it says that the prediction came from this line
"Weights for several jurisdictions were adjusted downward based on preliminary analyses of the timeliness of provisional data for deaths occurring in April through May of 2020"

Problem is this prediction didn't come true. The lower figure is actually far more accurate based on current figures
John Hopkins death report this Year
"“Briand also noted that 50,000 to 70,000 deaths are seen both before and after COVID-19, indicating that this number of deaths was normal long before COVID-19 emerged. Therefore, according to Briand, not only has COVID-19 had no effect on the percentage of deaths of older people, but it has also not increased the total number of deaths"
