“Brown is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.”
Hang on, you can shoot someone in the head, kill them and the best the state of Florida can do is change you with aggravated battery?

Brown admitted to firing the gun, but says he was only trying to scare his brother, police say. However, he saw his brother's head go back when he fired the shot. Guess he neglected to make sure the gun was unloaded?

Yeah maybe there’s something to the story that we’re missing :)
Florida really does have some crazy white boys :)

I wonder if the brother’s last words were “oh, wait...”

Yeah. He should have hired a doctor to murder him with a kevorkian cocktail, which would have been okay. Or better yet, gone to the killer judge in Pinellas County for relief, like that he provided for Terri. It might be that the FL man is actually guilty of interfering with medical or judicial “commerce.”

There seem to be plenty of stupid people. Sometimes I wonder how society can function at all.

Well, c’mon, he asked him to do it, right? I mean would the shooter lie? :-)

I can hear his lawyers argument to the jury. Ladies and gentlemen, you cannot possibly convict my client for granting his brothers last dying wish.
To: PROCON
Well I guess little babies don’t even ask before they’re murdered......but that’s ok.
To: Sans-Culotte
I wonder if the brother’s last words were “oh, wait...”One argument I've heard for total confiscation of firearms is to save lives. Unlike other means of suicide (overdosing, head in oven, etc.) one can't change their mind after they pull the trigger. Supposedly, many suicidal people do have second thoughts. Plus, maybe mental health treatment is a better way to prevent suicide...
I am not an advocate of gun control based on that or any other logic, by the way.

Sure would be unfortunate to jump off a 100 story building and then have second thoughts — all the way down.

I don’t know FL law but why isn’t there a murder charge in there.
I don’t think someone asking you to shoot them mitigates it :)
I’ve done too many stupid things to count in my 52 years and I wish I could undo a lot of them.
But killing someone who asked me to was never one of them!!
Gotta be more to the story
