STOCKHOLM (AP) — A 230-meter (755 feet) tall wind turbine in Arctic Sweden came crashing down on the snow during the weekend as high winds swept across the region, officials said Monday. No one was injured.
She added that she believed it was the first time such an incident took place in Sweden.
It was not clear whether the collapsed wind mill was working or whether it was under construction at the time of the collapse.

Physical injury and legal injury are two different things. Taxpayers were injured.
The gears fail, but constant vibration and/or harmonics will weaken metal over time. The gears and metal fatigue is why none of these turbines will ever last long enough to pay for themselves.
They are no different than aircraft - the older they get the more they fail mechanically and the more expensive they are to maintain.
Did they not expect this wind?
Maybe when they rebuild they should choose a location where there is no wind.
All these wind power proponents seem to have forgotten
that the original wind power sources were low speed
high torque grist mills and design something that is
opposite in nature.
So they don’t work when there’s no wind and they fall over when there is high wind.
