I will never forget the quote, "As God as my witness, I thought turkey's could fly".
A little breather in this election mess, set your DVR's.

WKRP is still one of the best sitcoms ever made.

Exactly. As bad as a decade the 1970s were, it did produce some great films and shows.

Barney Miller is in the same league as WKRP.

I laughed so hard at that episode when it originally aired that I thought I was going to have a coronary.

That is one of the funniest things ever on TV.
There are SO many moments in that one episode...
[Reading the banner] “W....K....Rrrrrrr........[staff nearly falls over in anticpation] ...P!”
“THEY’RE HITTING THE GROUND LIKE SACKS OF WET CEMENT!”

Better in my opinion. WKRP as good as it was could have been better.

Same! Les Nessman did the whole Hindenburg thing.
It was Arthur Carlson who said he swore turkey’s could fly.
I was there when it aired and it was awesome.

Barney Miller was good all of it’s years, but the era that featured Abe Vigoda, Gregory Sierra, and Jack Soo was just that bit better. And the good old days when Barney had a wife and Linda Lavin was even on the show, lol.

WKRP actually violated a real life radio rule. I can’t remember exactly what they did but it ended up that they played “Heart Of Glass” by Blondie two weeks before it was allowed to air anywhere. They just pulled it of the stack.

To: Hillarys Gate Cult
That was a big problem with WKRP in syndication, they had to replace a lot of the songs because of Royalty issues.

To: dfwgator
For a while, they did that to the first one or two seasons of Happy Days because it played Bill Haley’s Rock Around the Clock (glued the later theme over the intro). And that was one of the reasons why that show’s earlier episodes were far superior to the later years (particularly after Ron Howard and Don Most left the show).

I remember once watching the movie “Slapshot” and they had removed all the great songs that were on the original soundtrack.
