Longtime radio personality and The Big Broadcast host Ed Walker passed away early on Oct. 26 at age 83. We invite you to leave your thoughts and remembrances.

Hi Gina. Have anything special going on for Thanksgiving?

No, Vision. We don’t have anything planned. You going to Williamsburg?

Why, yes, we do. Our Thanksgiving plans got scuttled due to miscommunication and her boss being a jackass. She's normally off Tuesday, and requested Wed-Sun off so we could come up there. A night at home, then run to Pittsburgh where my sister's husband was going to smoke a turkey the size of a pterodactyl for dinner. Spend the night, then a couple more days home with Mom before heading back. A combined holiday trip - the houses pre-decorated, open gifts, etc. But, her boss decided he was taking Wednesday off, and the whole thing got banjaxed. M'kay, so I got on the phone and started making calls. Plan B: Bavarian Helen, GA, in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

And that's just a peek at a small part of downtown. Three days, two nights of more good German food, good German beer, shopping and attractions than you can shake a stick at. Leaving Friday morning, coming back Sunday evening. Feel free to Google Helen and look at the images. You'll see why this is a pretty good consolation prize. And the town is beautiful during the holidays. Our cabin, (with cable and wifi, too):

Since everyone thought we were going to MD for five days, they all made other plans, so I just got a bird and fixin's for two. Still gotta grab a bottle of the 'family' Liebfraumilch, but we're otherwise ready to cook a Thursday dinner, clean up, and pack for the next morning. I bet I gain five pounds in the next week, but God knows, after the year we've had, we've all earned a few days of 'me' time, present company included. And this will let me get in a little more gift shopping, too.

Looks cool. I can’t tell if you got a TV in the bathroom or a hot tub in the Den. Ha!

Both, in one room. LOL About the only thing that is different between my den and that cabin is, I don’t have a hot tub in here. But both have full private baths. The jacuzzi (heart shaped, ‘natch, it’s a Sweetheart cabin rental) and the gas log fireplace shall both be given a good workout next weekend, guaranteed.

Everyone’s wearing a stupid face mask! UGH!!! Where’s the fun of going somewhere for a cool vacation if you have to cover your face in a smothering diaper? I refuse and haven’t worn a face mask at all since the start of this madness.

I wear a MedAlert bracelet for all my maladies. Two being the enlarged liver and spleen, which pushes on my peritoneum, making it more laborious to breathe if I exert myself. Plus I have handicap tags and a cane. Try enforcing face diapers with me and I'll sue your tuckus into next summer for discrimination and undue physical duress with pre-existing major health conditions. Two can play your silly game. Ain't it cool how that works? LOL

(Note to self: I missed my six month with my oncologist. Reschedule before Christmas.)
