Why, yes, we do. Our Thanksgiving plans got scuttled due to miscommunication and her boss being a jackass. She's normally off Tuesday, and requested Wed-Sun off so we could come up there. A night at home, then run to Pittsburgh where my sister's husband was going to smoke a turkey the size of a pterodactyl for dinner. Spend the night, then a couple more days home with Mom before heading back. A combined holiday trip - the houses pre-decorated, open gifts, etc. But, her boss decided he was taking Wednesday off, and the whole thing got banjaxed. M'kay, so I got on the phone and started making calls. Plan B: Bavarian Helen, GA, in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
And that's just a peek at a small part of downtown. Three days, two nights of more good German food, good German beer, shopping and attractions than you can shake a stick at. Leaving Friday morning, coming back Sunday evening. Feel free to Google Helen and look at the images. You'll see why this is a pretty good consolation prize.
