We are marking a great American anniversary this month. In November 1620 a battered old ship called the Mayflower arrived in the waters off Cape Cod in what is now the state of Massachusetts. The passengers aboard the Mayflower were our nation’s first founders — or, as Daniel Webster called them, “Our Pilgrim Fathers.”
Webster delivered a speech to honor these Pilgrims on the 200th anniversary of the Mayflower’s arrival. Calvin Coolidge, then-governor of Massachusetts and president-elect, delivered an address on the 300th anniversary.
Regrettably, we haven’t heard much about this year’s anniversary because the Pilgrims have fallen out of fashion in elite circles. Just this week, The New York Times food section published an article that called the Pilgrim story, including the First Thanksgiving, a “myth” and a “caricature.” In place of these so-called “myths,” the liberal newspaper seeks to substitute its own, claiming the history of our nation is an unbroken tale of conflict, oppression and misery.
But that’s a lie about our country and its founders. No matter what the revisionist historians at the Times cook up, the truth about the Pilgrims is more remarkable than any story or holiday special. This Thanksgiving, it’s worth reflecting on why we celebrate the Pilgrims and their living legacy for our nation.

Maybe the reporters simply don't know much.
P.S. The 1620 folk believed that God exists. This is not allowed.
It is hard to imagine taking your food for a celebration AFTER a long hard growing season and looking FORWARD to an even more difficult winter.
Old Peter here would say, lets have a party in the spring with what is left over...........................
Their act of faith is amazing.
The 400th anniversary of Jamestown received a muted response when that happened. The fact is the United States is hostile to its demographic core and has been obliterating its heritage for some time.
Because the Pilgrims came to this Continent to be free from persecution and to enjoy Religious Freedom.
This Election has erased those lofty goals.
The fact is that half the American Electorate chose to be Governed while the other half chose to be Ruled.
As of January 20, 2021 those of us that chose being Governed will be at the mercy of those who chose being Ruled.
All you have to do is listen to what they promised before the (S)Election and what they are saying now.
” The New York Times food section published an article that called the Pilgrim story... claiming the history of our nation is an unbroken tale of conflict, oppression and misery.”
That’s what’s being taught in public schools as well, and has been for some years now.
because they are white racists as per the left
the people who founded this country were amazingly brave...from those who first sailed here... to those rag tags who took down the Brits.
We need more Rush Revere and the Pilgrims...
The founding of Jamestown and the Plymouth colony was the ultimate source of all evil in the World, according to the media, the educators, the Democrats, and the Deep State establishment.
Great post. Maybe President Trump will mention it in a speech.
When I was younger I would read stories about how snobs would say “My family came over on the Mayflower”
They were blue bloods. As opposed to Brit Blue bloods that mean Royalty.
I wonder if that same set still crows about..especially East Coast ones.
Too busy scaring people by screaming about the dangers of Covid-19.
Ask Elizabeth Warren.
Lots of them, but not a one is a Democrat, not a single one. Mommies don't let their babies grow up to be Democrats.
Alec Baldwin is a descendent..probably doesnt brag about it

The Pilgrim’s Failed Socialist Experiment
I live in Plymouth, the documents, journals and diaries are on display for the deniers to view.
I didn’t say ALL of them, I said lots of them. It helps to read the comment before replying. Thanks.
America (starting with Massachusetts) would have been a better place if the Pilgrims had never come.
I grew up 20 miles North of Plymouth and the family/families go back to since the Mayflower or shortly after. My sister did our genealogy. I helped a little and traced the paternal/surname back to 1630 to what would become Boston. We have 12 lines via multiple marriages into the Pilgrim lines going back to the Mayflower.
There are many millions of mayflower descendants.
You said NOT ONE OF THEM IS A DEMOCRAT
But that isnt why I posted that.
I posted it to show famous people ..and just picked out Baldwin because he is an ass and would likely be one to be ashamed of it...at least in public. He probably crows about behind the scenes
