What would the ideal future setup of elections look like?

Posted on 11/22/2020 3:55:01 AM PST by MalPearce

Open question: given the corruption and legal disputes around elections at least since Florida's hanging chads, just curious to see what people think would be a better system either at state or federal level.

All American natural born citizens should have a default constitutional right to vote from anywhere in the world on any voting day and to have their vote counted where it belongs without any serious risk of it being manipulated.

I don't hold any truck with the flimsy excuse that any voting system is inherently open to tampering either of votes in transit or during counting - it's only possible because of the way successive actors have set up past voting systems (and either left avenues of fraud open or CREATED avenues of fraud to suit their own objectives.)

I think vote counting technology could be much better. You could even read the ballots without opening the envelope and leave a record of how a particular ballot was counted on the outside of the envelope. Thus if it was determined that a particular voter was not qualified to vote, you could recount and exclude that ballot. Leaving a forensic record would make it easier to correct errors and to prosecute fraud.

short of impeeding greatly on individual prvacy and requiring a palm and retina scan to vote, every other option is subject to fraud. and even that would require a secure computer system.

I believe once cheating has started and excepted by the side that is doing it, the only way to really stop it is basicly publicly executing every last one of them who do it...

100% voter ID

Minimal mail in ballots, only to those with a physician letter stating unable to make polling place or proof of being out of the area for early and election day voting ( like overseas)

NO or strictly limited day of voting registration with those ballots segregated till confirmed as valid.

indelible hand stamp when you vote,

paper ballots, marked by the voter.

Ballots tabulated locally, not transported around for tabulation. Results retained on paper ledgers, same security features as ballots.

Ballots with security freatures, numbered and sequenced like money.
Voter gets a printed receipt with his selections recorded on the reciept.

No computer touch screen, bar codes, QR codes or internet connections of voting machines.

Standardized paper ballot, one for federal, one for state. Federal oversight over all. Automatic audits. Citizen board of review. No self-appointed “election agencies.” Those are a few suggestions.

In person voting—proper id—paper ballot. Each ballot should be scanned and three copies made. The three copies should be counted by different groups.

We should consider an amendment to the Constitution as well.

Voter ID...I agree. I might even go and calling it something else.

I would suggest that the federal government ought to pay for anyone’s ID if they made less $25k a year. After that, you yourself ought to be paying for it.

If you gaze around Japan and various European countries, they already have worthy ID programs in place, with extra security measures. This shouldn’t be rocket-science to develop and have it ready to run by the 2022 mid-terms.

National requirement to expunge and delete all voter registration rolls and to re-register on a recurring timeline. Patriots won’t mind.

First we must fix the Voter Registration System.

When a person registers to vote in a county, they must provide proof of citizenship.

If a person is registered in another county or state, their prior registration is automatically removed.

If a registered voter dies, the person filling out the death certificate sends a copy to the place where the person is registered and their name is immediately removed.

There probably some other steps that need to be done, but the important thing is to clean up the voter registration rolls first.

I don’t see any election “changes” if Bitem/Ho get in.

With even 30% ‘Rat voters thinking there was massive 2020 fraud, there will be moves to fix things within the next 4 years.

If Trump continues with a 2nd term, election changes will leave the US with a more level playing field.

If it’s Bitem/Ho, they will also try to fix things. Except they actually will “fix” things leaving the US with a built-in vote-switching playing field.

a) paper ballots;
b) no electronic counting - no matter how good or what security it would be hacked or altered somehow at some tome - could never trust it;
c) voting only on election day;
d) no votes admitted after polls close;
e) votes counted at place where cast - no transporting to other places;
f) count to be completed within 24 hrs of poll closing;
g) all voters must present valid ID - no provisional or same day voting;

VOTER ID or Citizenship Proof

Voting by paper ballot in person only.

Absentee Ballots require signature verification by human hand, not by machine scans set at 40% match.

Federal requirement that state voter rolls be annually purged of citizens who have no capacity to vote.

In Person voting only!

Valid Picture and Signature ID and a current Voting Registration card Required to obtain your ballot. Absentee ballot... only if you can demonstrate you’re out of state or you’re completely immobile! The process is so corrupt now that we can’t rely on anything but hand counts. The process needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. The entire election infrastructure.

easy fix: Florida-style rules for elections (following their debacle of 2000, they cleaned things up)

more fundamental fix: award Electors in selected states by the district method (the way Maine and Nebraska), so corrupt city machines can’t steal the entire state’s EVs.

consider: AZ, GA, MI, NH, NC, PA, WI; maybe also MN; provided we retain or gain control of them next year

IF WE HAD DONE THIS after 2010, we would have won in 2012 and since.

THERE WAS TALK OF DOING THIS BACK THEN, but no action.
